  1. Argh! Don't mention octopuses! What a filthy job they are to change! Thankfully, i don't have many of them to do anymore. As for the XUD lumps, i rate them big stylee! I've got a 'low mileage' 405 estate/van/hack with only 150k on the clock, engine is brilliant, it's just the trim thats falling off!

Some nice pics there. Isn't that CF a mk1 with a Mk2 grille? Not seen anything like it before.
  3. V6 Xantias are rocking horse poo over here. The only one i heard of belonged to the dad of a friend of mine, and that car came from a Citroen UK big-wig, so was probably special order. XM V6's are a bit more common, although the earlier one's did like to catch fire whenever they felt like it! As for 406's, we've got not one, but two in at the moment, and one of them has a manual box which must be quite a rarity on a vee six!
  4. You should of seen the poor old Master van we had at the truck garage i used to work at. One day, one of the mechanics had a prang on the way into work, smashing the o/s headlight to bits. Only problem was there was a breakdown to attend to by the time he got into work, and we had no spare lamps for it. So out came a trusty Lucas round lamp, and a few cable ties! You should of seen the look on the blokes face when we turned up to fix his motor, one rectangle light, one round one! Proffesional or what?!
  5. What with the cold weather making an appearance again, i'd go for the glowplugs, (not too difficult to change on the 405's). But one other thing that we've had problems with in the past, is that hand primer itself. It has a non-return valve in it, and we've had to change these in the past as they leak back occasionally. Might be worth grabbing one off any other Pug or Citroen that has one (they're all the same) from a scrappy. If it was an HDi with intermittant starting problems, i'd be 99.9% sure it would be the pump in the tank that was at fault. These little buggers are failing all the time, infact, i changed one on a Xantia yesterday!!
  6. I'll take the 3 Crowns thankyou very much! That VDP All-agro looks like the one i had earlier this year.
  7. When i worked in a scrapyard, we had an ARO for a while. It had an Isuzu diesel lump in it i recall. Can't remember if it was on english plates or even if it was right hand drive! Ah well, it was a long time ago.....

Do you really need a centre console? I've got an E reg 323 saloon i'm gonna use for bangers coming to me on Saturday, i'll see what condition the centre console is in if you like?
  12. That Royale belongs to the bloke i used to share my lock-up with! Looks a lot worse than he said it was..... probably paid over the odds for it too!I think he keeps his cars on a farm now, there was probably an old Calibra somewhere near the Royale which i sold him, (and want the wheels back!!!)

One of my 1st cars was a 16RS Mk1 BX estate. Beaten up old thing it was, but comfy as anything, and not too bad on fuel. Think it had a few owners after me, and ended up being abandoned over in Norway! Same colour as the C520 BX on that pic aswell....
  14. A friend of mine's wife owned one of them Sao's about 10 years ago, haven't seen it for ages though. Looks like the owner of that Lada estate is a closet Volvo fan after looking at the grille!
  15. That XJ40 next to all the pallets looks like a modern scene from The Sweeny! Just looked through the last few pages of your "spottings" SL, and a lot of stuff looks familular! The old truck on the bend near Needham Lake is only visible during winter when theres no leaves on the trees. The Hi-ace camper and 2CV i paas quite often, and not long ago there was an SC100 Whizz-kid on their drive aswell. As Wuvuum says, a little way up the road is an immaculate DS, and at the garage the Maestro is still there, with the yank (Buick), and a lovely Fiat Tempra estate which is for sale.I've only just recently joined this forum, but i'm gonna have to get the camera out and take a few pics of my own cars! (VDP 1500, Chevette, Reno 12)Will also have to check out all the rest of the pages on this thread, to see if i've been spotted in one of my shitemobiles!!
