its grim up north (essex / Landrover content)

had to go to west yorkshire today, i was quite glad to leave behind the dismal weather in durham;

 

 

and after trying out several trailers, plumped for the third choice, on the grounds that it round wheels, suspension and a tailgate, unlike the others

 

and after seeing some horrendous driving, a kestral, an apache helicopter, at least 4 duct taped mondeos and a very battered rover picked up these

 

 

 

two essex 3 litres with landrover adaptations

 

 

 

two full engines removed 3 series Landrovers, and both for less than 4 cheap tyres

 

 

does anyone know about these Landrover adaptations?

 

google is not giving me much

 

 

p.s. the previous owner of these engines has been directed here, as he told me he has a lot of obscure gaskets, including some pug stuff

I like the rev happy nature of the 1.6 in my Cortina. Should imagine it would propel the Ginetta fairly well.

after much pissing about with a bodged oil pressure pipe (finally ran the pipe into the dipstick hole ) i tried to start one the essex's today.

 

with scary speilberg on camera duty and a drop of petrol down the carb......
