I'm not on here much these days but I thought I would share this with you, Brand New Bedfords! The company I visited has the rights to the name and had an order for Sudan, that went tits up and they still have 3 trucks and a bus with delivery mileage, can you tell what they're based on?

Is the company Marshalls of Cambridge? - someone told me they were making TKs for the military ages after GM stopped making them. Is the truck based on an Iveco?

Truck is class, looks sort of like the illegitimate love child of a Magirus Deutz (sp?) and a Sherpa van.

Cav's suggestion made me get out a copy of a very old Observers book of commercial vehicles, and it does indeed look very similar to a Magirus Deutz from 1975. The last of these will have been badged as Iveco, as that fine producer of refined thoroughbreds was cobbled together out of various second-division truck companies in the 1980s.

Looks quite bizarre... the door handles seem to be a giveaway though.

 

They look like Merc 814 doors or possible, possibly early-80s MAN? Or am I waaaaaaaaay wide of the mark?

Blinking heck, those front indicators and headlights look really familiar but I just can't place them. In fact the indicators look quite Mk5 Cortina or Mk2 Transit looking.

 

Is it Ford based?

I'm no truck expert but all I can think of looking at the slatted type grille is Scania.
