The odd obscure username slipping through the net is understandable, but...

...I don't quite get how the latest registered user's name implies an interest in crap old cars

Is he one of the Hampshire Viagra-Cialises? Splendid family, owned a big estate in the country....I think it was a Volvo.

Just before people jump on the mods, the newest registered user does not mean that they have been approved.I just registered as 'ViagraSpammer' and it showed up as the newest registered user, I'd be surprised if it got approved.

^^^^What he said.We are getting swamped over on BXC forums and taken to not bothering to wipe spamming fecktards, just not activating their accounts - so it to shows people like "Mr DonkyMonkeyPornKing" now and again. We got a Raymanboy once too (but with a .ru email address)

How would you tell the difference between a Porno-Spam Robot and the real Raymanboy? Surely their posts would be almost identical?

Quite right Volksy. If a user requests access, regardless if it is authorised or not, it shows up as the newest registered user. Most of the porn/viagra/casino etc users can be spotted a mile away, but other spam can be much trickier to spot. You may have noticed a thread recently started by some bloke called 'Roman'. I obviously authorised that name but the idiot just ended up posting a load of Arabic or some such nonsense. Luckily no harm done with that, but it could have just as easily been porn. Now I'm a pretty liberal kinda guy, but a classic car forum sure isnt the place for mucky pictures - its particularly annoying as there may be some junior Autoshiters browsing the forum & I certainly wouldn't want them looking at stuff like that.I heard the other day that there is some software that collects details of all known spam on that there world wide interweb, & for a small subscription, automatically quarentines it before any damage is done. Apparently. So I've heard.
