Do they not salt the roads there?

You probably bumped into some of my family, they stopped in Iceland for a couple of days before heading to America.

They must just never throw anything away up there! I like the old Corolla there.

Congratulations on your Wedding Btw😀

Particularly impressed by the Corolla estate, wondering if it might be a US import? Likewise for the Series 1 XJ.

And a 604?! If I see one of them during a fortnight in France I'm happy enough.

And with whitewalls!

I thought Ólafur's car in the Næturvaktin series was meant to be comically shonky but it looks as if it was fairly tidy by Iceland standards.

Mornin'

I'm on a comedown having just returned from a trip to various bits of Eastern Europe.

Was there chod? Indeed there was. Cars first:

Tidy & virtually unmonged B2 Passat hatch

This W126 in Vienna had gained a (broken) Lincoln front grille

"Oooh", thought I. I never knew they made a three door Sierra in Ghia trim.

They didn't. It's a Laser with a Ghia tailgate - or just the badge from one.

When I Tweeted this magnificently shonky CX It recieved 28 likes. That's more than anything I've ever Tweeted before, or will again.

Big flash old Mercs, particularly CL500s abound in Prague and Budapest, often with signs of a less than doting owner.

King-size Volvos seemed more common in saloon form in Prague, for some reason.

These were everywhere in Budapest, but being built nearby is a reasonable excuse. Not all had such a natty and painstaking paint job as this one, though.

Until I visited the Museum of Applied Arts, I had no idea that Lada translates directly in Hungarian as "Casket".

I spotted this Renault 25 minutes after finding a Renault 19, which I did photograph but even more blurrily than the 25.

I think that's it.

Unless anybody would like to see some Czech, Austrian or Hungarian public service vehicles?!?

It turns out that my local Co-Op is a bit of a shite hotspot, so I've been keeping my eyes peeled both there and elsewhere.

This looked every bit as if it had driven straight from a farm in Iowa.

This was by Woodbridge leisure centre, possibly the only one of these I've seen without lurid shagpile.

A 'rolling restoration' of sorts, this frequently blezzes past me when I'm cycling asthmatically up the hill. Occasionally it has one or both headlamps up or down. It keeps you guessing.

Bedford CF pickup, collecting supplies from my local Jewsons. As you do.

Back to the Co-Op, and the lovely lady owner of this was delighted that I should show an interest.

A bit further from home, this Space Wagon was in the Julian Alps.

Back to Essex, and this 4.2 XJ has been mouldering away in Brightlingsea ever since rust was invented.

W220 S55, surely the shiteists AMG of choice. This one visited my manor.

This one was properly close to home. In my lounge, in fact. Shot from VHS footage of "I owe you nothing" by BROS. It's one of the coolest cars to ever have been in a music vid IMO, and I wonder if it's actually one of those super long, super wide W126s that some of the German coachbuilders used to nail together. There's a Jeep Renegade in the vid, too, but that's not a fraction as cool.

Another 2CV at the Co-Op.

This lives around the corner from me, and looks authentically non-cossetted.

Until a damn good strimming happened, this F150 was utterly overgrown. It was accompanied by other cars, but those have gone and this remains, so it clearly features in somebody's grand plan.

This Lada sounded pleasingly flatulent.

That concludes this particular trowel through my recent media.

EDIT: Aside from this, discovered half way through my 20-mile walk on Saturday

Can't remember the last time I saw a 750iL in running order. I assume they're mostly in this state now.

I took a trip into Colchester on Saturday. On the way in, a genuine factory LWB Rover 75 was waiting to join the flow of traffic. It ended up four cars behind me, and I monitored it in the hope it was headed to the same car park as me. It wasn't.

When I reached the car park there was absolutely nothing of interest to be seen. I was in high dudgeon, and just got on with the task of shopping that had been the goal of the morning's enterprise.

Then, fortunately, when I returned to the car, this had parked beside it.

The Camaro thread elsewhere reminded me to post this, being that it adds to the factory RHD yank list. This is the first time I've been anywhere near one of these since sitting in one on the Cadillac stand at the Brum Motor Show a LONG time ago.

Gin-u-wine UK spec official import, HML reckons only 23 left, albeit that probably means there are thousands of them all registered as Vauxhall Carlton GLs or something.
