I think Gandini is Len as well. Come on Len, give us a fuggin break will you, stop winding folk up for sport, you've made your point.

I started this thread to get the views and opinions of the forum, I thought twice about pressing submit uncase i inadvertently started another PU51 thread but i thought as its an adult forum you guys would be mature enough to have a friendly, adult debate without name calling.

Yet again I've been proved wrong, its a shame you can't lock your own threads.

It was a good attempt Trig, but folk can't help but stir shit to meet their own ends. I reckon Len's posting in disguise as well. Ironically the man accusing others of spamming the forum to death has now fallen into it himself.

Tragic, n'est pas?

Nope, I think the place is poorer for pog's leaving, and scooter's and Tayne's.

But making fun of newbies isn't the sparkling wit I look for here

Len, no-one was attributing [this particular spat] to Pog \ RP. For what it's worth I miss having Pog around - I know others don't though. You left AS because it wasn't what you felt it should be, and took massive offence to embedded picture quoting and off topic postings. You also tore into new members without giving them a chance. Granted, freebird thought far too much of himself, but that's about the only thing I agree with you on.

I'm not about to flounce off in a fit, but I'm struggling to keep it polite now, to be honest.

You've got your own forum now. Bus has left, yeah?

Not sure about name calling per se mate but this Gandini 'character' is definately Len and it's definately a troll attempt. Mr B and Wat (amongst others) are on the money here. For my money it seems it's blatant trolling as the more trouble he causes the more he hopes people will join his forum and the more he destroys this place.

It's pathetic when you think about it, if his shiney new website is so great he wouldn't need to try and drum up support and certainly wouldn't need to come back on here.

Grow up or jog on please Len.

I miss Pog, Tayne and Scooters.

Len, you're one of the few who kicked this shit off with your incessant moaning about anything you felt didn't fit your idea of what AS should be. You went off and started your own forum, so why the fuck are you still here moaning and calling people grunting mongs?

If you don't like AS, wind your neck in and / or go annoy people somewhere else. If you cannot handle the fact that if you have a lot of people on a car forum they're not all going to talk about cars all the time then you're better off sticking to the forums that are moderated by little Hitler types.

And with that, I've invoked Godwins Law. End of discussion.

Fuck, I have lost my willpower! Promised myself I would stay out of this, but for the record:

This forum has some Tagoras on it . Real ones. And an Argenta. History of a Tredia too. Surely that should be overriding all of this.

I don't watch much Tele - there isn't any where I live nowadays anyway. This is like I remember Eastenders to be (and other soaps I guess) when I was married to someone who watched them. (I quite fancied Ghita if I recall. I also like the shape of a VW Eos. That's astygmatism for you I guess). Anyway, I am sorry to see all those recently departed regulars leave - I'll miss their posts. But will enjoy seeing if I can spot them re-appearing again. Am I the only one who found MF/LH entertaining? I'm sure I was on the wrong side of a tirade or two a while back, but it's only a forum so I'm buggered if I'll take it personally. It's all fine by me.

So a no-vote to moderation by me. It's not as if we are paying for this - give the chaps a break. And it's the internet, not a pub. Clicking closed a thread that doesn't appeal is a damn site easier than picking up your drink and moving to another table. Sure, there's a lot more "other stuff" on the thread list now, but that's progress and evolution I guess. The GOM thread is like therapy for me sometimes. Good to see some people are having a worse day than me (if you posted a serious tragic event, then don't get offended, it was a generalization. I don't enjoy the suffering of others). I strongly feel that this will eventually return to a shite car forum in the main.

For those in doubt, go search for Boobydoo's posts and Blx exploits. Go get yourselves a face full of PM's 604. For the full on inappropriate belly laugh, look for the "i'd hit that" thread and scroll down to the baby seal photo.

I have to say as a noob that was my experience on this forum. Some people got really cranky when you do the most minor of things wrong. So that picture is on your screen 3 times..... get over it. I sometimes wonder if these people are clicking on the down arrow at the bottom of the scrollbar and going down a line at a time and that is why it annoys them. Then there's the intolerance from some of opinions which didn't match theirs. I don't generally like British cars, I never have and probably never will. A couple of people took great offence to this and tbh I didn't feel like coming on here much after that. At the end of the day opinions are like arseholes (everyone has them and they stink) and if someone wants to run around in something which I consider to be inferior to what I'd drive around in then it's no skin off my teeth is it? If they don't like 70's Peugeot's or think that they're crap then it makes no difference to me.

It's sad to come back here a while back and see that there's obviously been some fighting as this was generally a really great forum to read and a great contrast to the Fiat 500 forum I post on where people crap themselves when the slightest thing goes wrong with the car and sell up when it gets close to first MOT time because it might need its brake pads replacing or something

This forum has ended up the same way as many others have. I never posted on here much, partly due to my rather absurd entrance (i was messed up at the time and i am generally quite rubbish at socialising. I find forum meets akward and hate introducing myself by a made up forum name, i went to another hobby of mines meet once and found the fully expected false chuckle at my user name followed by silence after i introduced myself unbearable but i digress) and attacking 2 of the regulars, one of who took it on the chin pretty well and has continued to make high quality posts. Now i feel more sane but too ashamed to make any posts. Anyway its reached a point where loads of people are getting cranky and trying to outdo each other. However moderation i think ruins a forum even more, i used to enjoy Retro Rides before it turned into a nazi camp and the fun was sucked out of it leaving mostly a bunch of smarmy, arse licking twats running the manor who probably get some great satisfaction when they receive a reported post that they can then move in on with their authority and put everyone in their place. And then wank off about it later that night.

I used to love how this place never required moderation, if it had i would have been booted for sure and it just worked smoothly without arguements, maybe one day it will again but to be frank it would do better without any more Lens and their venemous opinions.

For once I shall stick my head above the parapet, the splinters on this fence are gtting a bit uncomfortable.

I already self-moderate; a while ago it was firmly pointed out to me that the majority of my posts were considered to be mindless drivel, I had the 2000 or so offending posts removed by the management, it was all done in a quiet way and I was put in my place. I'm not sure if this would count as bullying as I have stayed, but, do tend to think a bit more before I hit the submit button.

I don't post as much as I used to and rarely express a opinion as I am fully aware that my opinions are just that and are of little interest to others. I am also well aware that the internet is not the real world, if it was, I doubt that I would be talking to you now and you certainly wouldn't be listening if I did.

I am saddened that members have felt the need to leave, but have to respect their decisions, we all deal with things in our own way.

I still look in here as it used to cheer me up, I still enjoy reading about the epic tat buying/repairing and road-trips undertaken by others, also the show reports and spotting threads, but tend to keep out of the boisterousness that goes on, if I have something to say to someone I will usually do it via pm.

Very well stated Sir, aside from a couple of posts over this weekend I havn't been about these parts much over the last few months in the main due to my father passing away back in March after a short illness which does sort of put things into perspective. I've been a little shocked with what's been going on here of late, this is a great place, and I'd like to think that once patrons like Pog and Scooters will return, and can we all please concentrate on getting normal service resumed with all the drivel and pictures of shitty old/undesirable cars, and even a bit of irrelevent stuff is fine by me, lifes just too short.

And it's nice to see you back again, BS6.

I'm finding all this a bit too serious to be honest. As long as there's the ebay thread, tales of road trips & shite bought, and a few pictures of meets then I'll be happy. 'Tis still my most visited site. And I still don't understand a word Team Blitz utters.

I've been trying not to get involved, but if id signed up and found you couldn't post for 3 weeks I never would have bothered. We need some moderation, the recent spam threads were a prime example (although people replying hardly helped). Then again, id hate for this place to turn into Retro Rides where the merest mention of anything non car related brings the wrath of wannabe mods

I voted yes...not because the moderators are poor, but because the very good moderators we have need to be on here more often to see when moderation is needed!

It's a shame any forum needs moderators but it takes all sorts ect...

My experience of forums is that often members post in a big headed way that is totally different to how they actually are in real life.

I go away for a couple of weeks, no internet nor phone nor nuffink, and I come back to find all this angry cockmongery has been going down, nothing on the internet is worth taking so seriously.

I think any forum for which moderation is essential is going to be a load of bollocks, as said before, being a mare to get on here deterred tossers and ensured the right calibre of punter, the sort who are accustomed to waiting weeks for a basic part like a wheel bearing because their old grotter is more than a decade old. So how about making it just slightly more difficult to join here than it is to get hold of tie bar bushes for a '76 Avenger.

Here are some pics to make it all better and kiss the boo boos.
