Hello is that 1995? I have a mk4 escort for you!

Spotted this yesterday on the way back from the pub after being forced to drink 10 pints of beer by my cousins who weigh twice as much as me. Surprisingly I managed to take some photos and only fell over a couple of times.

Went past today and on inspection, she's as sweet as I remember, unlike the girl I was talking to in the pub. Bit of a bubble on the back arch but the rest looks fine. The escort was about the same.

Advert in window shows 33k, new cambelt and blah blah. 1400, so I assume CVH. They want a bag for it, which I reckon is probably a bit strong but its really a genuine car.

It's in Rotherham, PM me for a phone number. I can go and have a proper neb round it for you if you want (but the last time I owned a mk4 escort was 2000 and I was 15 at the time)

It also has a radio cassette according to the paper in the window.

£1000 sounds like very strong money! you could have my Mk4 for £600... (plug plug...)

Brilliant drunken shots. Never mind 'after 10 pints', I start to get that sort of vision after only half of that these days… :P:oops:

Anyway, that's looks a beauty. An estate too! Similar condition to my Mk5 of the same age. It warrants strong money looking from the (lesser-blurred  ) pictures, but sadly at the moment it's probably only worth half that. Sad but true. Store it away for a couple more years and who knows… It wouldn't take much work at all to make that a show-car.

Yep, not often you see the cassette slots used for what they were supposed to be for these days. My Escort’s one in the dash is full and I also have the cassette slot bin from a 1991 Sierra (found under the armrest) slotted under the passenger seat filled too.

The 1400 should be the CVH – same as mine. Look after it well, service it on the dot and it'll pretty much run on and on and on… Not the most refined of units for sure and have their critics, but remains for me one of the most faithful, reliable (and underrated) old petrol lumps that I've experienced.

I had a 1400 MKIV back in 1997/1998 is was a fairly quick car and was very reliable (never had any problems with it) the 1400's were lean burn units.

Finally a car people can say 'she's gots a lovely motor, etc' without sounding like a complete tit.
