Snapped Wheel stud

Recommended Posts

Just been doing the suspension on the Micra and came to undo one set of wheel nuts and it has snapped the stud.

Are these easy to replace? Any idea where to get them from before shops are all shut today?

That's going to be a difficult one at this hour on a weekend. I can only suggest you try a breaker's yard. They should just knock out the back of the hub flange of it's the stud I'm thinking of... Put a nut half on it first though, to avoid whacking the threads with 3lbs of Stanley's finest. Best of luck. Failing that, do you know anyone else with a few similar cars that may have a spares stash? If you're in WD, like I think you are, try Howard on Sipson Way.... you NEVER know what he's got stashed.

Thats a thought. Will try breakers as well. Cheers

Is it safe to drive with only 3 nuts on the front wheel? Or is it chancing it a bit far?

Safe enough for MOT if you have a wheeltrim over it.......!

I drove for a while with a '3 stud hub' on my 405, it was fine.
