Don't remember that one, or ever seeing a Renner 4 van with fake wooden side panels

I'm always scanning the tv-guide for it... and usually miss it. Cool film though, saw it years ago.

So it was a worldwide release? Because alot of these foreign films full of inviting tat that I see on here http://www.imcdb.org I can't find on release anywhere over here.

EDIT: Ooo that was embarrassing - I initially put the link as http://www.icmdb.com which it very definitely isn't!

Regie Ritmo does sound like a good country music name!Trafic was released on Channel 5 Video, that was in the days before Channel 5 telly, must be available on DVD

I have it on DVD, got it off eBay (from a Dutch seller I think) for about 6 quid delivered. Absolute quality! There's a thread with screencaps back in November last year somewhere...

Anyone go and see the Spielberg film "Munich" that came out about 5 years ago? Set in The Olympic Games 1972 it was full of 60s/70s euro-tat. In fact, I thought the designers did a sterling job in creating the 70s street scenes....very,very authentic. It was filmed in Malta, Budapest and Paris.I spent the whole while watching for cars to appear on screen that were too late for 1972, but the only mistake I saw was a scene with a Renault 6 with the later grille that came out in late '73. 8)

I think all the Tati films are available on DVD now, we had Playtime for a while, which is really odd but filled with Simca 1300/1500s.Also, I thought Munich was really good, and like you say they actually managed to get the cars mostly right. i've actually got on DVD I think.

Never seen this. Off to eBay later to search for it I think.

I was only thinking about Trafic yesterday. I have vague recollections about seeing it as a young child and really enjoying it (if only for the car content). There are a few clips on Youtube I found which if nothing else meant that I hadn't imagined watching it all those years ago. But will it really be as good watching it in full again now after at least 25 years??

It was advertised as part of a series in The Guardian a few weeks ago - £12.99. Link www.guardian.co.uk/readersoffers

:P Top job, thanks for the heads up on this. The only movie missing from my Tati collection.

A great and weird film. I have 'Play Time' by Jacques Tati - one of my faves. It's full of Simcas for some reason. There's a bit in Trafic when a DS pulls up outside the airport(?) and the driver gets out, the suspension floats up, turns to watch it quickly self adjust and sort of gleefully smirks and walks away. I like that bit

This is probably verging on criminally sad, but I seem to remember a feature on the film appeared in one of the Sunday supplements at the time, and the main photo had a mk2 Escort in it
