I turned out of my road behind this Karmann Ghia on the way there. I've seen it about locally before I think.

1.3 of burning love.

Stock Pop looked like a concours entrant. I much preferred Jonny69's old tatty one.

Alfa being discussed.

There were three series one XJs in attendance (two as Daimlers) I liked the Leyland-ness of this shot.

Marina interior was smart too.

This was hiding as well as a bright orange car can over the road.

2nd Tuesday of the month, every month, as it has been for the last eight or nine years. I normally go. I don't normally remember to remind anyone.

S'pose it's even less likely that I'll ever get to this now I'm in a different country. Great pics as ever Seth. Love the Honda N600.

I was reading about the Cavalier Sportshatch "Silver Aero" just the other day in a US car mag of the time - it featured on the Vauxhall stand at the '80 Birmingham Show. The bodykit is a Wayne Cherry job and reputedly dropped the Cd to 0.32 - the blurb I read suggested that it might lead to a styling kit to be sold through Vauxhall dealers but I assumed that came to zero.

2.4 motor was a Blydenstein job and apparently didn't need any compression reduction - blow-through pressurised carb as was the order of the day with turbo installations. I assume it was the same as the Ascona/Manta 400 motor (did this end life - albeit in a very different tune - in the Frontera?).

I wonder if it's in the Vauxhall Heritage collection or private ownership?

Did you get any more pics of the Ventora? I think it might be my dad's old one.
