If that's as tidy as the pic suggests, then the price is damn good!

says its got a grumbling bearing on the front but apart from that it flew through the CT :D

Good for a Mk3 then! Is that the carb or injection, just out of interest? ('Cos I can't make out the script on the bootlid.) Doing a wheelbearing isn't too painful on those.

1.6inj but its not a Ghia or XR3i :?

:? indeed. Must be a RHD Euro-spec motor then? Mind you, I wouldn't be knocking the extra bit of perkiness of the injected lump!

 "go on...you know you want to.....imagine the admiring glances fromthe birds as you cruise around with the roof down....on a hot day you could drve a convertible turd and folk are still jealous of the open air motoring!"

sadly this one was rotten as a pear and i was forced to sell it on at a profit

Well, that's settled then. 'Deserve' is an overused word these days, but I think at that price, you deserve an older, better one. Just to help you recover.

If it's as good as it looks with little rot, then what the heck? Especially at that price. Summer is coming (or probably already came…)!

Beware – from the pictures those door mirrors look like the 'smoother' mk4 mirrors to me, not Mk3’s! mode>

Nice. Didn't some of these come as GL spec? No idea what engine was fitted.

Apart from the wheels, it looks just like the 1.6i Cabriolet (as far as I'm aware, the sporty mark 3 Cabriolets were never badged as XR3is, even though they were identically-specced) driven by Makepeace in the first two series of Dempsey and Makepeace:

Get it bought!

not sure if its GL spec or not, as luck would have it i do however know of afew mk3's still stashed about the place and could be a good source of the non 'unique cabriolet' items... would like it put it as much as i could back to standard.. shame i hate cloverleafs lol

That looks nice John, The 1.6i Cabriolet was a pretty decent car, My mate has one that he's just restored which is nice, The wheel are of a 90 Spec XR3i as well.

I imagine that it would be a pretty nice car to have over in sunny France and being RGD you could always sell it back to the UK market if it's not rotten, I'm looking forwards to seeing the photos once you collect it.

That Escort Cabby looks very good. However I'm slightly confused by the lack of bonnet scoops, faux quad lamp stickers and huge rubber lipped 'RS' bumper. Were they available without these options?
