Does anyone remember this series from the early 90s? It was on BBC2 and ran for about 4 or 5 episodes, one was company cars (astra, sierra, cavalier, maestro diesel etc), then there was cars for women (capri, xr3 cabriolet etc) really good - looked on the net and apparently had an airing on BBC4 back in 2009 but would love to be able to download or buy DVD - any ideas? Some truly awesome shite content!

Was that the one with Alexi Sayle presenting driving around in a rover P5B?

Yeah, it was good. Did someone put up a link to it before? Remember a dicussion about the Maestro Diseasal and the heartbreak the chap was going through having to rattle up and sown the M1 with his suit jacket in the back whilst everyone else was in their Cavaliers.

Thats all I rememebr about the show me. The Maestro.

It's original broadcast was in March/April 1994 and it looks to have been recorded around late summer so I guess the end of August early September 1993. No it wasnt with Alexi Sayle it wasnt introduced or narrated by anyone, the style of filming was very modern then and still has a modern feel today.

Episode titles with original transmission dates:

IT GETS YOU OUT OF THE HOUSE (18/03/1994)

SHE LIKES IT HOT (25/03/1994)

LOOKING AT HIM LOOKING AT ME (01/04/1994)

OVER THE MOON WITH THE CAVALIER (08/04/1994)

RED LORRY YELLOW LORRY (15/04/1994)

I caught the first episode about five minutes in on BBC Four by just flicking over after watching it for a minute or so I thought I know what i think this is but surely it cant be! and I watched all five over the following weeks. It amazed me on how many Metros were on the roads in the UK back then. The company car drivers (Ep 4) is the one that sticks out in most peoples minds as most of the drivers were so up themselves. I liked the first episode it looked at young drivers with their first car, the posh girl with the 2CV was so funny.

For those who have never seen only heard:

It seems that Rickety Rentals is still in business. No website, though, just a Yell listing.
