Huge amusement.I am sure you will have seen / heard the ads on the telly / wireless for this company. Basically they promise to buy any old bilge off you regardless of condition.Obviously it is aimed at giro-wielding MONGS who need to flog their YES! car credit Astra when the cambelt snaps and they need the money for HEROIN, but I thought, in the name of research, I would have a look. Firstly I tapped in the details for our Focus. It gave me a 'valuation' at approximately 75% of it's market value. Fair enough, I thought, these chaps have to make some quids somewhere along the line. So I tried boshing in the details of my BMW.... year, model, spec, long MoT & tax, good nicker, sensible miles etc.... now bear in mind that a pukka 325i touring will make more than a 8 year old galactic mileage Focus any day of the week, what do you think these chaps offered me?£1000?£750?£500?Nope. HUNDRED AND TWENTY FIVE QUID. I nearly died laughing. So my challenge to all bilge-pilots - just how low an esteem can your old clunker be held in? Can anyone else get less than weigh in for their shite?GO!www.webuyanycar.com :lol::lol:

They'll give me £220 for my Probe.. hmm - I'll pass! Wouldnt quote me for my cortina :D

I got £125 for my old Xantia with no MOT or tax and starship mileage. I'm trying to get lower.

I was going to give the total shite astra a try. You have to give them all your details so they can email you a price. Feck that! I get enough spam as it is!

I tried to put in a Sierra I had 10 years ago but I got the number wrong and ended up with a 1.3 Escort.

I went with this and made it as undesirable as possible with no tax or MOT and damage to every panel, I also made it a non runner with a poor interior. This is the message it gave me...

Driving something special?

Unfortunately we're unable to give you an instant online valuation for your car at present. The most common reason for this is if you're driving a prestige or high-powered car. Don't despair! One of our valuers will contact you before the end of the next working day to provide you with a personal, no obligation valuation once we've been able to look at the details a little more closely.

Don't put your real contact details in BTW, just put in random details that it will accept. You can view your valuation on the website.

Well, Pog, you'll be delighted to know that my 323 Wagon is worth exactly the same as your BMW.

Sadly, they were not happy to quote for my (imaginary) FSO Caro Diesel with rust on every panel and 4 bald tyres, same message Richard got. Poor show!

For added fun put in something relatively modern and check out what it would cost to trade it in for an identical car. It would be about £2k to trade our C5 Estate.

It's nice to know that our imaginary shitters are prestigious and high powered though. If only they were real.

Well I have been successfully quoted happy on an entirely ficticious Lada Samara. Here's the dream spec!1.1L (non-runner)Luxury interior (poor)Large dent nsf wingSmall dent roofAir-conditioned (cracked windscreen)GR8 4 DRFTIN (4 bald tyres) etc. No MoT or Tax.This car is worth ..... £125! I don't even think the eBay scrap morons would give more than £50 for that, so some folk must 'win'. Next: luxury!

 That's about £500 more than it's worth.

I'd be surprised if they were getting any less than £150 for scrap cars. Around here you get £160 if you take the car in.

I put the details of my Felicia in, which admitedly is poverty OAP spec but it is in loverly condition with a full year of tax and MOT and got the same amount.

Bizzare. Admittedly it still isn't worth much more than that, but you would think the condition and long ticket on it would come into play. :?

Poverty spec sounds good to me, all you get with the GLXi is a sunroof that leaks and a boot spoiler that falls off with no provocation whatsoever.

Can't see many Lada Samara's on there though. :?

Great, I wonder if I could make money by flogging scrapyard-ready wrecks to this outfit then politely informing them they need collecting from Jersey. :lol:Tidy bird they've used on their website mind

Well that's saved me doing it then :) I thought it all sounded a bit dodgy when I heard it on the radio.

How do I input my 30 then?

Tried, wouldn't give me one, probably because I described the condition of the shed accurately. Also had a go at putting on of his American monstrosities on, but it dosen't recognise the LeBaron as a Chrysler model.
