Didn't Princess Grace of Monaco meet her maker in a Rover P6 :?:

I'm pretty sure it was a Rover P5B, rather than the P6.

I'm pretty sure it was a Rover P5B, rather than the P6.

She reportedly owned a P6 though. This photo (which could be of anyone, really) from the P6 club's website supposedly shows her getting into it.

Inconclusive. All we know is, it was probably a Rover. Still, some nice chod in the background.

I asked my wife about this (she reads biographies of Hollywood stars voraciously, including one of Grace Kelly very recently) and she helpfully told me that Grace Kelly met her maker in "her own car". I enquired as to the make and got a shrug of the shoulders. I was going to hunt the biography out (I'm pretty sure this bit would be near the end, and so not hard to find), but then had a thought - does it matter? She wasn't even a head of state. No need for more thread drift.

Yep, hence the name Chile above the pic!

I'd love to know what Berlusconi glides around in ...

Officially I think it's a Lancia Thesis (future shite?):

...but he thoughtfully turned up at (Fiat boss) Gianni Agnelli's funeral in an Audi A8.

Meanwhile, he allegedly has a fondness for buying BMW Minis for the girls that come to his parties, plus the occasional New Beetle. Says a lot.

That is definately a P6 in the crash photo. I wonder why I was so certain it was a P5B? - Hey, I've learned something!! :D

Shame it's a four door, otherwise it would have been GR8 4 RALLYN.

I always knew JP II was cool! SO, Mark 2 and reputed to be a pretty good footballer in his day. When I was a kid in the early 80s, our ice cream man was a ringer for The Pope. In Northern Ireland slang, "a poke" is another term for an ice cram cone, but when the other kids said "The poke man is comin round" I always thought they said "The Pope man"

Apparently this Paykan was a gift from Mohammad-Reza Shah to Nicolae CeauÅŸescu. It has Romanian registration; B is for Bucharest.

^^In a Chevy Blazer with Western Wheel turbines!!! Are those KC Hi-Lite's up top?

Yes exactly!... Later on they put that car in a museum, believe it or not! Their excuse for using an American car was that they needed something tough against the crowd! The driver of that car later on got a high-up position in the regime for his bravery that day! People always joked about his arrival and his death almost 10 years later. "Came with a Blazer, Left in a Freezer"!....

^^Was it Ghotbzadeh? I LOVED that guy, he was slicker than snot. I was sad the day they killed him. Banisadr was the real clever guy, and got the hell out of there in a nick of time!

No, it was Mohsen Rafighdoost, Ghotbzadeh was of course got executed by Khomeini's order. Banisadr was Iran's last truly elected president, before he got removed in a Coup d'état! He lives in France now... Those first couple of years after 79 revolution were just amazing, so many things happened inside Iran. It was a revolution to end the tyranny, but 32 years later... No need to say more. :|

Liz Windsor's Vauxhall Cresta, here in miniature form as well:

http://www.oxforddiecast.co.uk/VFE003%2 ... Estate.htm

I spent many summer holidays in Glen Gairn By Ballater (some 5 miles from Balmoral) during the 1950/1960's and remember this Vauxhall occasionally accompanied by a Ford Zodiac or Zephyr estate of the same era. There was also a Landy NXH 1 specially adapted for carrying guns for the grouse shooting
