retrogeezer Posted April 19, 2008 Posted April 19, 2008 Some small time car dealer living there, the 3 cars around that green Merc DIY camper have got for sale signs in the windows.
MrRegieRitmo Posted April 19, 2008 Posted April 19, 2008 The camper is very inventive Those Skodas are on ajcherry's spotted thread I think. Passed them a few times on trips to / from Brighton.Retrogeezer, those cars for sale have probably been put there by different people as it'll be one of those highly prominent car selling hotspots by the main road!
pompei Posted April 19, 2008 Posted April 19, 2008 F**k me, that caravan conversion would even shame the local pikeys. Great spot!
nigel bickle Posted April 20, 2008 Posted April 20, 2008 I've seen that a couple of times on that roundabout nr Shoreham -tis as god-awful as it looks. Interesting idea though- seeing as I have a surplus of pickups...Puegeot 403 caravan anyone?
Richard Posted April 20, 2008 Posted April 20, 2008 I don't think many caravan sites would let it in.
Torsten2001 Posted April 20, 2008 Posted April 20, 2008 Even I would baulk at popping off on holiday in it, bloody awful looking thing...they should do the decent thing and put a flat bed on it
MrRegieRitmo Posted April 20, 2008 Posted April 20, 2008 They call caravans snails......well they haven't seen this thing have they!
Guest greenvanman Posted April 20, 2008 Posted April 20, 2008 I'm almost certain I've seen that Merc in a garden in Crossgates (near Leeds) a couple of years ago. When I returned with a camera, because no-one I told about it would believe me, the owner had very wisely covered it with a tarp. I say I'm almost certain, there couldn't be two of them like that, surely?
Dead_E23 Posted April 20, 2008 Posted April 20, 2008 Here's a slightly better executed specimen seen at the Enfield Pageant of Motoring in 2002:
Albert Ross Posted April 20, 2008 Posted April 20, 2008 You were taking a picture of the legs weren't you?
Dead_E23 Posted April 20, 2008 Posted April 20, 2008 If she's anything to do with the motorhome family that's probably her normal posture.
Timewaster Posted April 20, 2008 Posted April 20, 2008 Does anyone else think that would look much better if the caravan were mounted backwards with the flat part against the cab and tapered at the back? Maybe one for the photo shop experts?
Dead_E23 Posted April 20, 2008 Posted April 20, 2008 Does anyone else think that would look much better if the caravan were mounted backwards with the flat part against the cab and tapered at the back?I was thinking that after looking at the one I posted. Trouble is, I'm not sure that the wheelarches would be in the right place. Even now it looks like one of them doesn't line up properly - either the caravan is asymmetrical or the conversion was done whilst under the influence of Kestrel Super.
mk2_craig Posted April 22, 2008 Posted April 22, 2008 I guess if you're worried about aesthetics you wouldn't be bolting an old caravan to a life expired luton truck chassis.
bones96 Posted April 22, 2008 Posted April 22, 2008 any way this was parked on the roundabout at shoreham so decided to treat you all seen this over the other side of the harbour by the houseboats belongs to a hippy type fella when we saw it he was up to his armpits digging in the mud at the side of his houseboat and this was parked in the residents car park so its gotta be his??????
Marty Posted April 22, 2008 Posted April 22, 2008 Does anyone else think that would look much better if the caravan were mounted backwards with the flat part against the cab and tapered at the back?I was thinking that after looking at the one I posted. Trouble is, I'm not sure that the wheelarches would be in the right place. very crap MS paint effort after 2 cans of Carlsberg
Marty Posted April 22, 2008 Posted April 22, 2008 Hey, I'm on so many different meds that believe me if I do drink it makes me (more) peculiar.Mother in law round tonight though - so I have to have something to numb the pain.
