It strikes me its in the tradition of the 70's -80's custom car scene. Loads of stick on tat and no taste or feeling for when to stop....

70s/80s?? I'd say it closer to 00's!!

Keef - did you spot the ADO16 howler in the latest Practical Spastics? I was reading a mate's copy (honest Guv) and they said the Wolseley 1100 used the twin carby MG lump. They were a single carb, 12G202 head motor like the Maurice 1100, right?

No. I don't get PC anymore I'm afraid. Wolseley, Riley & VDP all used the same MG twin carb unit in the manuals anyway.

Here's a photo of Jasper's engine. :-

I bow to your superior knowledge of all things Hydrolasic, O Great One.Something still tells me they weren't quite the full fat 55 bhp tho - did they not have two carbs on the standard Ozztin-Maurice engine?

http://www.ado16.info/ado16_history.shtml - "The Riley Kestrel and the Wolseley 1100, both announced at the 1965 Motor Show, were mechanically identical to the MG and Vanden Plas"Austin n' Morris versions just had single carb, as did autos.First Morris engines put out the same BHP as my 1962 1098cc A40 - 48.http://www.aronline.co.uk/index.htm?ado16tlinef.htm

Strangely, that Yellow Cav LOU 848P wasn't registered until June 76.....my old neighbour in Slough, had SWL 234P, also yellow....registered in the April of 76.......so if it was the Press demo, was it registered late, and used on false plates or traders?
