How do i find out from the DVLC about how many examples of my V6 Safrane survive both roadworthy or not?

I do have the form

Freedom etc i think it says on the form, but can they tell me exactly by CC as its a 3.0 V6 they should know shouldn,t they?

I did try it ages ago on my 25 V6 Turbo when i owned it,but they couldn,t tell me...

Is there a form on there site i can fill in and ask

P.C mag always lists how many examples survive on certain cars,so how can it be done.

Always been interest to see how many V6 Safranes survive,i think only 300 sold in the U.K between 92-96.

There is a PDF you can download that shows how many went for MOTs last year from one of the .gov.uk sites. I have one from 2007 on my computer somewhere but I can't find it!

Hi

Yeah someone else said that,Renault owners club i think had a list of 3000 in 2007 but thats ALL safranes not just V6,but a more up to date figure would be nice...

But i can,t find the link either.

You've got the form, so just ask.

Be specific on CC and age range. Saffrane ran 2963cc

I think that the magazines get the data from the SMMT rather that the DVLA through the Freedom of Information act.

If a request under the FOI act would result in a lot of work then the DVLA can refuse to supply the data for free.

Hmm, is there a definative answer as to how many 604s are left? According to Practical Classics a couple of years ago there were less than 15, but that low mileage one popped up in November...

Thanks for posting the link, i'd lost that some time ago.

According to that only 9 Mitsubishi Lancers left from 1986 26 from 1987 (only made my model for 2 years - D&E reg)

Wonder how many left after scrappage scheme (and I had 3 mot'd up until last month !!)

Take that MOT sheet with a pinch of salt. Last I looked, three of my cars weren't on there. You sort of know when you've taken a car up for MOT and it passes or fails.

I was also going to say that that MOT list is dubious. There are very few older cars on it. So I don't know how much weight can be put behind the stats for the more modern cars too.

It took a good month, but the FOI/DVLA responses I got on both Maxi and Lancia stated the counts of either Taxed or SORN cars listed. No mention of the 'Unlicenced' category.

Bear in mind when placing a request down to specifics, the disclaimer states:.

To provide this information, we have used the standard codes available to indentify the make/model of a vehicle. Any deviation from those codes will not be captured in the results.

Which means odd listings for example Model 'Princess' under either Make 'Leyland' or 'Austin', need to be remembered
