I've just spotted this on another forum, thought I'd post it here.

It's highly unlikely that this will be seen anywhere but tha more road users that know, the better.

This 1920s Jowett two seater was stolen from a locked workshop behind locked metal gates on 10/1/11 Taken from the Birmingham area, the owner, a loong term enthusiast is, naturally, devastated.

I don't think it will emerge in public for a couple of years but will undoubtedly have a colour and reg change. A V5 would not be hard to come by. If anyone's doing the steam fairs this Summer, keep an eye open for any similar Jowett 2 seater on display...there aren't that many. Likewise, see one on a transporter....jot the truck number down and let me know on here.

It's a long shot, but.....

You never know

Not really the kind of thing you often see getting stolen.

It feels harsh even typing these words, but I reckon that's in a container bound for somewhere with a healthy collectors' market. USA or Japan spring to mind. It's almost certainly been stolen to order with a customer waiting, cash in his paw. Such people should be bounced against the nearest wall until there's nothing left but a red stain.

Indeed. Along with anyone involved in the production of 'Top Gear'...

Wilko, with the best will "in the world," I can't see the production of a crap TV show as being equal to the sneaky theft of someone's pride and joy upon which he/she has certainly lavished time and attention, and probably money too. This is the third one we've heard about in recent weeks, and that's three too many. There are far more deserving contestants for the head-bouncing game than a few smug media types. Although, once we've dealt with the hiab boys, then by all means line up Clarkson and co. Behind the bankers, insurers (who will fight tooth and nail not to pay out for any of these cars) and politicians.

I suspect export is most likely, either that or the thief will sit on it for a few years before sticking it on Ebay with no identity or he will ring it using an old logbook from a similar car.

Due to the rarity I'd like to think it would be spotted straight away if it ever came up for sale, it's very distinctive!

Where are all the calls for bringing back hanging and whatnot in this thread?

Im certainly pro chisel..knuckle by knuckle..its kinda unbelievable that stuff so distinctive and rare getting nicked..in Sydney in the 80s..i was hanging out in a squat in Darlinghurst..and an old warehouse caught fire opposite us..low and behold..when the 2nd floor gave way..a brand new Volvo fell through into the lower level..it was with a whole lot of others that had been nicked in London and shipped over..we watched them craning the rest out..
