H reg Clio?

coming back from my cousins garage the other day I spotted a Clio on the side of the road for sale. I pulled over to see how much they were asking for it - (as I do quite often! - you never know, some people have no idea how to price cars!)

 

It was up for £450, about 300 quid more than id pay for it, but I did notice it was on H plate.

 

Thats got to be a very early one, seen a couple on J plates in the past but never that early.

The very first one's were on a H plate, I have a Autocar road test and that's an H plate.

Mk.1 Clio seems to b e a very rare sight in any form these days. Nicest looking of them all and even the 1.2 is nice to drive

Had a J Reg Clio in 2005, £350 with T&T for 6 months, didn't bond with it, was almost impossible to get into reverse I seem to recall, really fell out with it when I decided to jetwash it prior to sticking it through the local banger auction and the paint came off the bonnett in greatlumps, createaur de automobiles? createaur de merde!!

I once borrowed one as a courtesy car. That usually brings to light any weaknesses. Felt lovely actually. Not very interesting, but very capable.

We took a H reg one in on the 'scrappage ' scheme 18 months ago. It was mint. 51,000 miles , FSH , automatic, power steering , leccy windows. No rust or dents at all. I even think it was one owner.

I was actually behind a G reg one on the 602 in Manchester just the other day - I thought this odd as the first ones were H reg. I then noticed it was a left hooker.

 

Import on an age related plate maybe?

ive always fancied a 'Williams' one.

I read in the ROC mag that there was only 7 1990 registered clios left i think and that was 2007,really fancy a 1990 clio RT.

So theres a challenge anyone know of a 1990 registered clio on an H reg?

Speak of the devil - here's your car. Pity somebody else has completely balls it up first.

 

There was an ice blue 1.2 RN on a J reg in Sandbach until recently. Completely rust free, but sadly dented everywhere. How about trying to find a yellow RL - there's a challenge!
