JeeExEll
Mk2 Ghia 2.3 estate? Don't remember that option in the UK. Possible tho, like Cortina 1600 Ghias which were listed for a year or two but I've never seen one. jbz2079
155V6
Didn't some European countries used to have really high road tax for bigger engines,so they made higher-spec cars with the smaller engines? flat4alfa
adw1977
I can't find a 2.3 Granada Ghia in any of my brochures, but it's certainly true that some countries got combinations that weren't sold in the UK due to different tax regimes. Not just trim levels, but whole models with smaller engines, e.g. Escort Mark 1 and 2 with 940cc engine. JeeExEll
There is a Ford Cars brochure from about 1980/81 now I think about it, offering the option of a 2.3 Ghia Granada. Never seen the 2.3 option on a Ghia estate tho. 155V6
adw1977
Yes, there were 2.3 Ghia saloons, but not estates. Sorry, I wasn't clear in my last post. JeeExEll

JeeExEll
The tawny metallic hid the rust well. No-one suspected the extent of the corrosion until one day when he opened the bootlid. Oh bugger. adw1977, HillmanImp, 155V6 and 1 other

bunglebus
Coupe fixed-hardtop conversion with slimline rear roof pillars. Reminds me of a Lancia Fulvia. I think someone just got a bit carried away with the scissors, pre-photoshop. Or you can't see the white vinyl roof against the background. JeeExEll
^^ As far as I know I think it was for real. From memory they (apparently) made 2 with a longer rear deck, one a V6 and one badged as a Lotus. May be more info on t'net. Optimistic 0 - 60 claim all the same. bunglebus and Dick Longbridge
