Not a mini rear screen is wrong & there's a quarter light in front door, & record is an F type victor.

I genuinely didn't think it would be a Vauxhall on the continent back then, but it turn sout they were manufactured in Antwerp.

Vuxhalls of that age were not built anywhere else other than the UK. They were sold alongside Opels in The Netherlands, lesser extent in a number of European mainland countries

Is this pedantry of "built" versus "assembled from CKD kits"?

I would love to see the link where you found that please. I have only seen Opel based GM produces assembled in Belgium.

Well I knew lots of Brit metal went out to OZ and NZ back then

And I was aware that GM had once had a factory in Bienne/Biel in Switzerland (Omega and Rolex have the biggest factories there now) but I'd never thought about what they built there.

When I saw the wikipedia page stating the Victor F had been built in UK/OZ/NZ/CH/BE , I realised I'd just never joined the dots myself. Assembling cars from kits to avoid import taxes is a very similar process whether its in Belgium or Australia.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vauxhall_Victor - it references the Swiss article above.

The wiki page on the factory mentions Opel, Bedford and Vauxhall from '53 ownwards

https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Opel_Antwerpen

Vauxhalls were also mentioned in the article about the plant closure

https://www.sgcarmart.com/articles/news/gm-to-shut-down-opel-factory-in-belgium-and-announces-more-job-cuts-5021

And this chap seems to like his Antwerp built Vauxhalls

Thank you. The Guy with the old VX is a nice story. Wiki, is Wiki. Change the page to German and it has a slightly different history.
