Some freecycle goodies

I put an "wanted" post on my local freecycle last week asking for classic car brochures and magazines, I done this once before and bagged about 100 issues of Practical Classics so i thought it was worth a try again.

A couple of days after placing the ad i got an email from a local chap saying he had some old magazines if i was interested, After arranging a time over the phone with him i went to collect them today.

There's about 30 old issues of Motor, Practical Motorist, Car Mechanics and Popular Motoring, all from the 1960's and in good condition, result!.

He then says that he has a few more bits in his shed that i can have if i was interested so I also bagged this lot as well.

and a sealed BL bag with what looked like black trim clips, any good to anyone?.

I also got a couple of grease guns and he said that he also has a Austin hydragas pump in the shed that he might get rid of but needs a sort out, I told him to email me if he decides to dump it.

Great "finds" Trigger :D Lucas lights are a "Fogranger" and matching spot which might be called something else? I like that Miller one too.

On the cover of that Car Mechanics is the Jago built (I think) version of a famous Barris built car called the "Ala Kart". Jago based it on a Ford Pop. Its still around - I saw it at the Enfield Pageant a few years ago. I'd love to see more of that Customising issue - any good wheel adverts?

There's only a small feature on the cover car, The car on the cover is called a Devrian Imp made by Adrian Evans and costs £200 to have the conversion done!

There's some quite funny customs in there, The Mk 1 Cortina Estate with the full width mud flap like a lorry would have alone the rear is my favorite.

You welcome to have it if you want Seth?.

A quick search reveals your clips are 'drive fasteners' for Rover 800/Sterling non-UK models as far as I can tell.

I was bored!

Non UK Models? Strange!, Well if they are of any good to anyone let me know!

I'm guessing so as both part numbers only appear on foreign parts supplier sites - no UK ones.

i went to collect them today.

Nice little find there trigg. :)

Well done.

Great find there, the instrument binnacle looks to be aftermarket. Often found on souped up Mini's and Dolomites e.t.c

Thanks guys, I recommend trying the same thing in your local area, you never know what might turn up!

Sorry Seth, I realised what you meant after i thought about it a bit more!, That Jago thing is quite strange looking isn't it!

Fantastic! I scored a Montego Haynes manual off Freecycle the other day, cost of postage if anyone wants it? I already have three...

The old spotlights are Lucas "Fogranger" and Lucas "Ranger", exactly the same as the ones on my A35 - what's the silvering like on them?

pretty good as it happens, They are quite pitted but i gave the worse one a very quick go with the autosol and it's came up well, The Fogranger light has got a damaged reflector inside though.

I looked on ebay yesterday and one of these are selling for £75 each!

That yellow Miller lamp would look GR11 on the Opel!

I'm gonna have to do this I think, if only to break up the mass of WANTED: FLATSCREEN TV MUST BE 50" OR BIGGER (Haywoods Heath) adverts on f/c
