And yet again PC fuck their captions up. The 'once proud [soviet] Moskvich' is actually a GAZ Pobeda......

LOL!

He does actually come accross as a bit of a nobber in the article so I don't think I was too harsh.

I must apologise for my hasty description of the big saloon as an AC when it's clearly a Lagonda. I'm sorry everyone, I'll endeavour to never let that sort of amatuer mistake happen ever again

^The chemical composition of rain will do for ally, magnesium and plastics, too. Not to mention all the leaf mould, and drinks bottles...

I'd bet most of us would love to turn up at a posh do, in a trashed Roller, at least once. Talk about making an entrance? I get the point of what the guy's doing - the cars are arranged, even deliberately crashed into a tree, and then left. Just to frame that moment, and let Mother Nature have them back, because nothing's precious.

He enjoys it, has garden parties among it, and it gets people all rubbed up the wrong way; fantastic.

His money and choice I'd thought and leave it at that until I read the bit about buying a car someone restored then smashing it up... weirdo.

I'm putting up a new shed at the bottom of the garden, i started emptying the old one- it was full of bleedin' wheels that weren't even mine!!

There's two sets of alloys from his pug 205gti's that he no longer has and a set of ford steel sport wheels- i've even got his damned citroen saxo on the drive now so i can only just get on

He should have bought that swampy scrap yard that was on here not long ago in someone's spotted thread. That would atleast be the REAL DEAL.

'bet that buick kid was absolutly gutted.

Odd.

I like the idea of creating a graveyard of cars. If I had the time / space /money I'd do the same. But, I'd do it buy buying rotten old crap to start with, not by buying decent stuff. Thats what I don't get about this - why he spent a lot of time and money buying up rare and good examples just to let them rot. That strikes me as a bit odd really.

Although after seeing the XK120 sitting there I immediately hated this guy (favourite car since I was little, the 120 and E type were the first two cars that i could ever recognise if you like, first cars that I knew what they were) but in some ways I kind of like it as well. something strangely romantic and un-precious/materialistic about seeing manmade things from a relatively distant time returning to nature. yeah it sounds corny but yeah, looks like an oddly peaceful place. part of me hates it and part of me reluctantly understands.

odd though, thats for sure. and I love the Rolls, just odd that he should restore the car that gets set on fire when theres plenty of wrecked looking shite in that garden to choose from, and he chooses the truly buggered one. ah well. great photos.
