Guest Leonard Hatred Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 http://www.subaru.com/content/static/fi ... index.html Sadly for Subaru, the Kia Magentis-based Mediocrity is a better balanced and more attractive design than the horrible 2010 Legacy they're selling off the back of this 'fight against beige' ad' campaign. Nice try!
Guest Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 Hey it's got a 2.2 4-cyl, bet it goes some! And a 2-DIN CD player. Shame about the Motorworld trims.
pogweasel Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 Spoof grill aside, it appears thoroughly acceptable to me. If they'll do one on £1 down, £99 a month 0% finance, then I'd sign right now.Only if it's beige though.
Guest Leonard Hatred Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 As I've said before, possibly ad nauseam it's much more acceptable than the HIDEOUS new Legacy
pogweasel Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 The magentis may be mediocre. But mediocre is good. Mediocre is individualism these days. Pleasing blandness in a sea of fugliness. I've spent the evening looking at epicas on ebay though, so my sense of realitymay be slightly skewed...
garycox Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 I think the Magentis (and Mediocrity) look pretty good, much better than that Subaru thing.
Guest Leonard Hatred Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 I've spent the evening looking at epicas on ebay though, so my sense of realitymay be slightly skewed... I hope you found some WOLSELY SIX-aping ones.
wuvvum Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 Magentises are actually bloody good cars. Yes the interior is a bit grey and the plastics slightly low-rent, but other than that they're as good as anything Japanese, they're surprisingly agile for such a big car and the V6 versions go like stink. Although I'd be the first to admit that they're not the most characterful of machines.
ProgRocker Posted October 21, 2010 Posted October 21, 2010 The Mediocrity looks ace! Loving the squared off coor handles. I wonder if Kia's lawyers will be contacting Subaru any time soon?
Gompo Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 I dont mind most Subarus. Even the new Impreza could be worse and the saloon improves it. The Legacy is acceptable - I've seen a lot worse anyway. However, my boss got a new car a couple of weeks ago. In the past he's had a 996 Turbo, RR Sport Supercharged, TVR Chim etc.. What's he got now? A fucking Subaru Outback and it's bloody disgusting: From some angles it just gets away with it yet from others it is hideous. The wank 'arches' look even worse than those on recent MBs
Guest Leonard Hatred Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 It's really sad because the old shape Legacy was quite a pretty car.
Guest EccentricRichard Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 It's really sad because the old shape Legacy was quite a pretty car. Hear, hear! Mind you, even the new one is better than the "Mediocrity"... but Scooby badly need to nick Peter Schreyer from Kia. The latest big(ish) Kias are actually seriously sharp, taut-looking, even (dare I say it) classy cars! Look at the new Optima, for a start...
