Downfall of our BMW dealer

As the economy tightened and people started to spend less our local BMW dealer showed the effects.

The BMW signs became smaller and he was now the Mazda dealer, but you could still buy BMW .

Drove past on Saturday and what was the new car outside the front?..GEELY, a small 4 door hatchback model.

Till then I was unaware they were sold here at all.

Are you sure it wasn't just a cheap German copy of a Geely?

Careful fotorabia, if you keep looking at photos of cheap S-types you will turn respectable and buy one!!!

And I have to agree with steve austin, staying in business is necessary.

The local website is http://www.geely.co.nz/page/Home

I was also unaware anyone was importing Geely in the UK. Do you know the name of the dealer? I'd like to know how much they're trying to sell them for.

Looking at the photos on that link Stuno posted, the MK hatch isn't a bad looking car. It reminds me of those generic cars seen in insurance adverts. £7.5k (in NZ) for a 1.5l four door hatch with air con, foglights and a leather steering wheel! I'd be up for that.

Then again, their logo appears to be a turd with stink lines coming off it. Maybe that's a bad omen.

That the thing that looks like a mk.5 Astra isn't it? Seen a few but they're so bland it's the kind of thing you'd lose if you park outside your house. BMWs, Mercs and Audis are rare here, so they are slightly more interesting as you aren't over exposed. doesn't make the X5 any less comically ugly though
