What I did whilst AS was down

I'm not the patient but I'm spending quite a bit of time with her. Nothing to panic about. Normal service will be resumed soon. Move along now. Nothing to see here. etc.

I do hope everything turns out well, Seth. Don't start me on hospitals. My granddad recently had a small stroke and was in hospital for close to a fortnight. A very concerning time.

I returned yesterday from a week's holiday down in North Devon, so I didn't even know we were down and offline...! I picked a damn good week to be away from the computer then.

It didn't stop me shite-spotting though. I spotted two new shape Fiat Cromas (bloody hell - they show up like buses!) and at one point I ended up behind a slightly scruffy white 'C' reg Nissan Bluebird saloon (the newer shape - one of the first) heading into Barnstaple. In Tesco's car park in Braunton there was a white 'R' reg Skoda Felica with the rustiest offside front wing I've seen for some time. Not only was the arch caked in rust, but it was bubbling out aong the whole length of the top of it by the bonnet, with rust staining running all the way down  . It wasn't scened as an old giffer in a flat cap with a walking stick got into it. His missus was part of the 'blue rinse' brigade already sitting in it waiting for him. Parked next to it was a jacked-up, very muddy 'H' reg Land Rover Discovery.

P.S - A great story, Hirst!

for the first day or two I did a lot of crack cocaine. then I discovered a garden law forum and became insanely interested in rights of way and boundary disputes....

Then i went back to the crack cocaine again....

Did some work, was far more productive than usual :D

Other than that, sorted my Flickr account a bit and was generally a bit bored with the utter lack of old rammle on the internet.

Waited for AS to return, found the AS999 forum and joined, posted my Rover problem, Solved Rover problem and then posted this on the new AS forum.

Oh and went to the toilet once or twice.

That is all.

Finally managed to get back on!! Bloody password reactivation kept getting put in my spam folder and in my permanently inebriated state I did not think of looking there until I sobered up at work today.

This topic is a bit like when you were a kid and had to write about what you did in the school holidays, except with slightly more wanking and crack. Here's my effort:

Whilst Autoshite was down I had Volksy come round to my house to sort out my CV boots on my Rocco as the bits GSF had given me were total shit and would not fit. 3 nights I went out there, secured them for them to only come off again and me to stand there screaming at the car like a madman for 5 minutes before I went to the off-licence and got 2 more bottles of wine. It probably was just as well the forum was down otherwise you would have had to have put up with my drunken 'witty' posts. The normal process for this is that i drunkenly post, am too scared to read what i posted, don't frequent the forum again until i am pissed again.

Then I drove off in my GT6 without first tightening up the wheelnuts, but am quite used to the noise now and knew to stop and tighten them up immidiately.

Then my mates came round and did my garden for me for nowt in repayment for me doing some welding on their van the week before. I really had not wanted payment for that as i had got to use my stick welder on some chassis work for the 1st time in years. :D:D It was a pleasure more than a chore but hell my garden was a shit tip.

I did some light dusting and drove a Talbot Tagora to the shops and back.

Anybody else and you'd know that would have been a joke.

The dusting bit I just made up....errr...and the driving a Tagora !

I didn't do either!! :(

But I did watch loads of youtube and learnt that the first 'moonwalk' dates back to 1955!

...and remembering that Jeffrey Daniels was a bit of a 'dude'!!! :D Quite avantgarde in 1982!!

I found a job until the 9th and booked my flight back for the 16th October. Only doing the admin for the council elections but it's actually the best paid job I've ever had.

It is however rather depressing how many people cannot fill out the form correctly and thus void their own vote
