Vin Posted July 23, 2011 Posted July 23, 2011 As ever good work Rootes manuva. I have a short colour film about old car disposal from 1965. The DVD is titled 'Look at Life' transport edition- 9 hours of 10 minute colour films about everything transport from scooters to hovercrafts. They were made by Rank, for broadcast in cinemas. It has a demonstration of a new AEC hauled mobile car crusher. They put a 1936 Buick Century through the fragger for the benefit of the cameras.....Not pleasant viewing.
ProgRocker Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 Here's my attempt at a scan or two: From 'Road and Track' 30th anniversary June 1947 - June 1977.
ProgRocker Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 FromAutocar & Motor magazine, dated 25 August 1993. I originally wanted to keep the front cover of that issue, which had a pic of an Aston Martin Vantage. But I guess the Proton advert on the reverse might be of more interest to you Autoshiters.
ProgRocker Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 From Motor w/e March 2 1968. A lot of Vauxhall test/publicity cars of that era had the 'OXD' prefix in the numberplates, I understand.
ProgRocker Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 For some reason I have always preferred the 1970s series 3 E-Types with the V12 engine over the original from 1961. But then I think avocado bathrooms are cool.
ProgRocker Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 BMW 7 series advert that I managed to extract from a 1979 issue of National Geographic stocked in the art room at school back in 1993/4.

Vin Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 In 1999 I had a look at an F reg Tipo for sale in Grimsby. It had 'Falcon' decals on each side and the boot. Also I recall it had a Leicester registration (AY) I thought it might have been a dealer special. Now I know

ProgRocker Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 Love these images - almost reminiscent of an early 1970s Progressive Rock band album cover!
Negative Creep Posted November 13, 2011 Posted November 13, 2011 Just imagine the restecpa you'd get turning up at Jewsons in the Ranger Van
barrett Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 You diamond! Some fantastic stuff here, thanks for posting. The most interesting thing is the odd looking Conversion Car Bodies saloon thing. Previously I'd only ever seen the Estate (and only the rear three quarter view) so this is a totally new one on me. I'm convinced these never actually got built as I've never seen or heard ANY reference to this outfit outside of these period ads. Not surprising really, considering how UGGERS they are. Did you scan these ads yourself? If so, can you remember where you found them, I'd like to get hold of 'hard copies' of this stuff at some point and it'll be nice to know where to look. Meanwhile, here's the only other evidence for their existence....
morris_ital_lover Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 How naff are those wheel spats for the Mini? They would, naturally, probbably be worth millions now though!
