pompei Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 A friend of mine is selling his sister's Fiat 500 for her. Long story. Anyhow, it's an 08 in white, 1.2 Sport trim, pretty basic spec, no sunroof or air con, but it's got alloys and chrome bumper/sidestrip insert things. And Fiat mudflaps. 17k miles. Nice condition bodily, but a bit scruffy inside, although he's going to tidy it ( scuffs, nicks etc) He's planning on putting it in the Autotrader. Is £8,250 too much to ask, to settle on around £8? I think as a private seller they'd have to take a bit less than that. Any ideas? Thanks
Alexg Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 Sport models should have aircon as standard, along with Bluetooth and half leather seats. If it don't have any of these it's a 'pop' model. £7500 is maybe more realistic but they are sort after cars. Try for a couple of weeks at 8250, there is no harm in it.
Lankytim Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 Could you not spec the 500 with pretty much anything you wanted? I seem to remember a computer program that you could play with. You would start with a mega base spec 500 and add whatever extra to it you wanted. The result of this is many customers ordered cars, the computer fucked it up and they recieved the incorrect spec car. You should have no difficulty selling it though, when I did a bit of work for Fiat they couldn't sell enough of them!
Gompo Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 Any idea how much it cost new? Cant have been much more than £9k..? I reckon I'd be happy with anything over £7750.
trigger Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 I've got last months Glasses guide here, a 08 plate with 28k trades at £7400 and retails at 8300 with a new price of £9215, So read into that as you will, I'd be budgeting for anything over £7900-£8000 myself.
Guest Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 You might actually be better selling it directly to the trade - £8000 is a lot of money for a private sale, even if it is worth that. You might be sat on it for a while just because people think it's safer getting one off a dealer (whether it actually is or not is up to interpretation, but you know what I mean).
eddyramrod Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 I can't believe no one has suggested "we buy any car"Might have been interesting to try them with one of my Cadillacs... they probably wouldn't even be able to spell it!
fiatdaft Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 trade is £5800 in below average condition (most cars are valued here) to £7300 in excellent condition. cars are making lower than cap below average condition at the mo.
Barry Cade Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 One just 'pop'ped up on Ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2009-FIAT-500-POP ... mobiles_UK
Gompo Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 new- Pop- 9465lounge and Sport- 10865They've gone up (no surprise). I was interested in the 08 price, I think the basic Pop with no options was either 7800 or 8200 May/June last year.
