That looks amazing! Where did you go in Norway? I'm planning to go next February...

Gawd, there's a question! We didn't get too far north, but our friends drove the Atlantic Coast Road, which sounded very epic indeed. The furthest we went north is a place called Lom, which has a very helpful tourist info and gorgeous green glacial rivers. We stayed a couple of days there in a wooden hotel. It was superb. We also stopped in a shack near Lillehammer which was nice. Had to drive up a very steep, many hairpinned lane and found a little shack on a farm at the top, complete with wood burning stove. We opted to have a few days not in the van after six days in it at the World Meeting.

 

We then curved down towards Bergen, but annoyingly, I think the ferry to Newcastle got ditched not long afterwards (this was summer 2007).

I've been to Nordkaap and then onto Spitzbergen - Norway is epic, end of!

Ferry to Norway did get ditched at the end of '08 - we went on it in Jan 08 thinking it would be a nice minicruise to Norway and back. It was actually bloody awful what with the North Sea and the seasickness and all.

Nigel - I'm now freelancing for several titles, including the rival Classic Car Buyer. Not doing anything for CCW at the mo. H van might have been handy, but a hired 7.5tonner will be cheaper and faster (even if it's restricted!)
