Heh, the topic is about how bad Fronteras are. The answer is unbelievably 'orrible and to be avoided with extreme prejudice.

 

So, as you said you're after a 4x4 I decided to suggest some slightly saner 4x4 alternatives. A battered Renault 18 4x4 1000 miles from your house is a wiser buy than a Frontera, as it a fucked up old Polish military truck with camo paint.

Fair point, I didn't see it that way at first.

 

I know that I need a 4x4 but what I really want is a nice comfy preferably diesel and manual old Merc. Or maybe a smooth straight six E36 BMW.

 

What didn't you like about your old E36 318iS Pete-M? I had one a couple of years ago and thought it was great.
