I'd wager it's a 12v if it's that old.

Sorry its blue not grey my eyes are terrible...

It does have a nice plate on it A13 JOH but not sure if its staying on the car,all various Alfa owners club stickers in the screens.

Definitely 12-valve V6 torque-steer-tastic.

I bet that tenner over there, there, that the heater flap stepper motors behind the dash are fooked

I know that blue, looked at a few ten years back. Bound to be blue seats too.

With 192 horses they drove well, but feel more hefty than facelift cars which can be had for same money. Any rust will be a past mystery as they were galvanised

Not that much torque-steer with the auto. I'd have another like a shot - just for the engine noise. Sheer spine-chilling magic.

I would also happily have another. I've had a fair few 164s. Love 'em.

Oh, yeah, the stepper motors will be shagged. That's a given.

As for the non-rustyness of 164s, just make sure you check above the rear axle. I've seen a few seriously rotten ones there. Galvanised or not.

Haha, I didn't know the 164s had heater flap stepper motors! Piazzas have those as well.

The 12v was a better car than the 24v. More reliable and more driveable but a black 164 Super with the chrome looks stunning. I worked for Alfa in 1994/5 and sold these MoFos new, fantastic cars. The auto had a comedy turning circle - Alfa fitted stops to the steering rack to stop the tyre fouling the end of the massive autobox.

164's will be extinct in another 5 years. The rear subframe does indeed rust, but they are old cars now.

Ah yes, thanks for reminding me of the pitiful turning circle! GR8 4 260-POINT TURNZ!
