Egg and bacon sandwich count 1

Poo count 1

The toaster is at the parents house, fully charged and full of parts and other stuff pulled from auxiliary storage (their garage)

It's sunny but not very warm, the car was trying to warn me of gospel performers outside

Many hours later (for the banana republic of Cheshire West Council gas decided to close ALL roads simultaneously for the budget using-up surfacing work) finds me in Liverpool. One rebellious/poorly Discovery objecting to being listed for sale..... Now loaded with some of the crap retrieved in stage 1, and just decided to start after several weeks out of use

Arrived finally (Via one particularly suicidal dead pheasant) at @Bear's rehabilitation centre for slightly shonky automobiles in need of TLC

A cup of a tea and a walk round the car later, time for a lift back to the station in a particularly nice sounding Merc

The new patient is going to have to be patient, because a: RocketDog racing sent fuel lines with loose barbs, so I couldn't fit them, and b: I think I will need to wheel the lift to the carport to raise the Disco, as I suspect the wheels will be on the ground when the roof meets the ceiling in the garage 😂

But I strapped on a pirate leg and made a start...

First, try some of the workshop bleeding techniques on the brakes. Let's unplug the level sensor...

Ah...

Yes, I unplugged it by the plastic housing, I'm not an animal! I will check over some of the wiring connectors for the braking system as this kind of corrosion on plugs could be causing fun things. Hopefully it's just this one, which I'll fix with new connectors, a splice to make sure there's enough wire to remove the plug in the future, and heatshrink.

I tried to do a selfie to show me stamping around on one leg and an iWalk to wash the car but can't. And frankly I look bloody awful. That's supposed to be a smile.

Better. Let's remove the bird mess.

Now waiting patiently for me to get some ABS skills and bleed the braking system. Though it does need to swap places with the C320.

Bonus adventures yesterday, Wesley found a Mondeo he liked so the black Merc was deployed again to Leicester to retrieve it. So now I theoretically have a 230,000 mile non-starting Mondeo diesel to take apart or make go.

It already looks better without 3 months of dust and pigeon crap!

Le sigh.... Cars just know when they're going to be sold to start twisting the misbehaviour knife don't they? It's like an abusive relationship.....

Nanocom can auto bleed the brakes on these. Choose which corner you want to bleed, hit the button and you get maybe 10 seconds of pushing fluid to that wheel. Nice easy one man bleeding!

Worth seeing if you can borrow one from a local!

It's on the radar, but I think the issue is elsewhere and probably 'stuck solenoid shaped'. In fact I mentioned it to the place I got the RX-7 fuel pipes on while discussing brake pipes, and they immediately said ABS unit, solenoid, which is reassuring!

My diagnostic box talks to the ABS module, but I don't think it can do anything other than read data.

Think of it more like visiting a counsellor or therapist, once they realise I want to help they just open up and stop trying to mask their issues after trying so hard to please their owners!

At least that's about the only way I can see all the wonderful perfect mint cars I've bought in the past that suddenly turn into ungrateful junk...

It works two ways though, that neglected purple Honda that @Keymaster has was so grateful to be rescued from a Bradford driveway it behaved perfectly.
