Even though I now own a pretty quick car (3 litre S type) I find myself driving SLOWER! I think its cos the Jag is so smooth, it's a real treat to just waft around. And no-one tailgates a Jaaaaaaag being driven by a shaven headed man (with burns on his face)

I'm bad for sitting at 40mph on country roads, UNLESS theres someone in front of me. When I want past. And do 60, everywhere.

 

Motorways in the car is normally inside lane at 70ish, overtaking only when neccesary.

 

Unfortunately I can't say the same about vans. 82mph in an LDV Convoy minibus with a tonne and a half of grit in the back is thoroughly entertaining...

Drove back from Cornwall yesterday and generally cruised at 75-80 on the way back which felt perfectly acceptable in the Leon. However accoding to the trip computer, the mpg improves once you get to 85 as if some magical ecu setting leans out the fuel mix or something at that speed. That sadly is too spicy for Mrs P.

 

Quite annoyingly only got 33mpg average on way home which is dreadful for a modern. Even Mrs P is starting to mutter the word Diesel. Due for a change soon so may downsize, I cant afford to fuel the thing! Since I got it a tank of fuel has gone up £20!
