Amazing pictures,

Feels like you could walk straight into some of them, reminds me a bit of Road Dreams by Elliott Bristow, its worth googling if you like this kind of thing.

Don't know why but I knew straight away that train yard was chicago. Anyway I like the damn construction pictures and the bomber factory. :)

Wow! Some gorgeous pics in that lot. In artistic terms, I particularly like the reflection shot of the woman riveting the Vengeance dive-bomber.

Any country that can let its settlers call somewhere "Pie Town" is all right by me! :D

Brilliant find, thanks for posting.

If some of those photos had been in black and white they could easily have been mistaken for being at least 50 years older.

Considering how old they are, the detail is truly stunning. The welder at #62 really stands out for me.

These are truly fabulous. The colour and definition on them is amazing and the composition excellent too.

A lot of people say old photos should be in black and white for that authentic, atmospheric feel but I think that's bollocks quite frankly. I wasn't there; I want to see what colour the woman's dress or farmer's shirt was. This brings it all closer to us and much more to life.

Thanks for posting the link. 8)

Sod the lack of car content, what a brilliant find. Absolutely stunning pictures, and I loved the one of the girl watching the boy making a model 'plane, amongst many others
