Fiat spider! i have to say i prefer these to the Alfa, simply as its roots lay in the Fiat 124, which is fundamental a Lada. Looks like a left hooker. So whats the score on this? Can't be abandoned surely? These things are worth something.

i didnt know what it was

quick rac check says 850 'spyder', y.o manufacture 1976

wiki says production finished on the 'spider' in 1973

It's in the compound of a factory.

I assume that it's owned by someone who works there and has either 'stashed' it behind the bins so the boss doesn't notice, or has been told that yes-you-can-store-it-there-as-long-as-we-don't-have-to-look-at-it sort of scenario.

Edit,

A5, it's a 124 spider.

These spiders went up until 1980 in the US badged as 'pininfarina spider'. I'm sure Fiatdaft will correct me but I think the impact bumpers only came in in 74?? so 76 for this seems about right. And they are worth bugger all if (like this one appears ot be) they are rusty old sheds.

good spot though!

Looks in serious danger of being flattened by a bale of waste plastic. What a way to go.

Almost right. The Fiat lasted until 1982, as the 2000 Spider, then another three years as the Pininfarina Spider. They obviously didn't want to stop building them, or maybe they'd built quite a lot of bodies when Fiat said 'we don't want 'em anymore!'

Bought one about 10 years back -sat for 3 years with a ripped roof. £50.

Ripped the bumpers & smock shite off, welded it up and it was then a reasonable 2 litre sports car. Bit too plasticky though.

Wife didnt like l.h.d -so sold it on, midsummer, for a sensible return.

Fun for 4 months(ish)-but needs to be cheap.

Nice spot though-Pog.

I just did a HPI on it

Manufactured 1976, first registered in the UK in 13th August 1991 and no change of ownership since. Same owner for nearly 20 years?

How very odd.

I only live up the road from it and noticed earlier this year...but not sure how long it's been there. Its up a quietish street well tucked away.

Oh, I just noticed that an insurance company did a HPi check aswell back in March this year.

No. Yesterday I was mostly in bed. Apologies for non-attendence (1st time in about 10 years)

Did see a green/black Commer Cob, a pop-rod and a plastic '32 on the A1 on route back from doncaster sunday morning
