For years this thing has been a pig to hot start and I put it down to vapour lock and old car fun. Bloody hell (or whatever it is in Italian)…. I break out my favourite spanner…

then remove the old condenser… the new condensor (shiny bit, below, £8.50 delivered) has a different wire termination so I cut it off and replaced with one I bought for my Mk2 Cavalier SRi in 1991 and never used, hanging onto it, just in case…

 

on it goes…. Battery on, ignition on, pull the starter lever…. Started first time with no cranking or hesitation at all. Like an actual, normal car… bellissimo!
