I took advantage of the lovely weather to tidy up the less visible parts of my 230E:

Apart from a little filler along the bottom of the nearside rear arch, the bodywork is remarkably solid for a W123.

Next to do is tidy up the engine bay.

Supertidy - and I like the metal number plates!

Looks like a nice spot, too - are you out near the Thicket?

Ehh? Not sure what you mean r.welfare. Where is the Thicket?

Thought you were out Maidenhead way...?

Christ that's clean, nice work Mr Welfare.

Not mine! I'd be well chuffed if I had the time to get the arches of my sheds as clean as Peter's W123.

That looks lovely, nice work. I always like seeing cars with nice clean wheelarches for some reason.

I work in Maidenhead but I live near Beaconsfield in Buckinghamshire.

Thanks for the comments guys.

The car is clean and the dirty (mud filled) arches were letting the cosmetics down. Some of the original factory coatings were beginning to crack so a good prep and coat of paint will keep the metalwork protected.

The trouble is that I will not want to take the car out in the wet for the fear of ruining all my hard work.
