Angrydicky Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 Your old Maestro's new owner isn't too happy with his new purchase... http://www.maestro.org.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=13310 and quote: 'If I have to mess around and remove the whole dash or remove the whole handbrake assembly, (nearly impossible with the centre console in the way, my Maestro will be rolling across the weighbridge in the morning and i'll be hunting down the previous owner'. Oh dear
Guest Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 Hey Bollox, let me know if you need some heavy-duty muscle, I reckon we could take on this weakling.
MrDuke Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 Being as he can't even spell 'handbrake', I'd question whether he should even have access to full-sized tools and shit. Let's batter the fule.
Milford Cubicle Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 What's the story with the centre console? I remember you mentioning it in the original for sale ad, so he can't complain.
CIH Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 frankly if he's going to scrap a perfectly decent motor becuase he's been outwitted by a 'console he shouldn't be messing about with old chod.
Station Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 What's the story with the centre console? I remember you mentioning it in the original for sale ad, so he can't complain. It can't be removed by 10 thumbed twats.
Mr Lobster Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 It constantly amazes me* that so many people buy an old car for a few hundred quid and then freak out because they can't cope when they come across a few 'issues' Its an old, cheap car FFS. If you want 100% reliability or you can't fix stuff yourself, buy a new Kia. *It doesn't actually. It did to start with but this happens so often the novelty has worn off.
Cavcraft Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 LOL at 'forced to sign a receipt' and the whining about it not being as described. That being the case (which I don't believe) why the hell did he buy it? People like him are the reason some people prefer to scrap older cars as they can't take dealing with the terminally stupid.
Negative Creep Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 Wow, what an absolute plank. Fair play for signing up to give your side though
254575 Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 i despair of the maestro owners club sometimes. despite being a memeber for many years, it seems ridiculously 'clicky' whenever someone shows up with a new maestro, the threads just seem full of people sniping about imperfections with the car. or people telling them they wouldnt have paid that much for it. or threads full of people who have picked up a mint, 1 owner maestro, from the family of an old boy. saying 'I WILL LOVE DIS CAR 4EVA' only to find it in the classified a few weeks later with a 500% markup I even gave a car FOC to a member on there on the condition it would be looked after, only to find out it had been sold on a few weeks later. is it a modern classics thing?
pogweasel Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 LOL. GR12 work on serving him up a frothing jug of STFU.

Most (if not all) owners clubs have some dickheads in them, who spoil things for everyone else. I'm thinking about joining the Maestro and Montego club, it seems friendly for what I have seen of it, but there seems to be a bit of a predomination with the MG and VDP models?
Cavcraft Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 It can indeed by clicky at times but there are some very decent people on there.

whitevanman Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 What a bellend that guy is, there are a few people like that in Cortina circles as well, can't fix anything and moan when a 40 year old car needs work done on it, I can't imagine it would have been sold at mega bucks.....so what does he want ???? total bellend
pompei Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 Good work! I'm guessing that "Colin Cotter-Pin" might well be someone on here?

whitevanman Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 at that money he should thank his lucky stars it's running and has an MOT...or use the £300 as a monthly payment on a new blandmobile and sit on his arse watching telly instead of owning an older car....
Lord Sterling Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 What a twat. There seems to be a growing number of people who are joining the old car 'scene' but end up scrapping it because a button fell of the radio or something equally trivial. Good on ya Mr Bol for standing your ground. Mr Lobster hit the nail on the head with this one: Its an old, cheap car FFS. If you want 100% reliability or you can't fix stuff yourself, buy a new Kia.I'm tempted to join just to say that. ...the Maestro and Montego club, it seems friendly for what I have seen of it, but there seems to be a bit of a predomination with the MG and VDP models?...Unfortunately many sites become like that, I should know. One I'm with seems to have a preference towards Turbo Coupes and manual transmissioned cars.
Mr_Bo11ox Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 Good work! I'm guessing that "Colin Cotter-Pin" might well be someone on here?Whoever he is, he's been quietly 'moderated' outtatown!
TheScrapman Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 Excellently dealt with there Mr.B Gold stars to you.
Guest Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 He's bought an old Maestro for a few hundred quid and he's whinging because there's been a problem and he doesn't have much technical knowledge or anywhere to put it up on axle stands? What a bell-end! I reckon what you should do is get him to leave it with you, then send it back to him in CKD form.
