DIY, destroy it yourself?

The whole idea was to make it worse. Damaging something that does feel the pain is surely far more retarded?

No pictures I'm afraid but circa 1981 I had a Marina. It was a hateful, horrible complete piece of junk which nearly sent me over the edge.

Me too. In the Summer of 1981 I exchanged 20 pounds for a clean black tulip (purple) Marina 1.3 Deluxe saloon (KPB905K) with a wanked engine which was in bits in the boot. I bought for 10 pounds a 1622cc Oxford engine thinking it would fit. Well it fucking didn't, and after 2 weeks trying get some spurious scrapyard gearbox to fit I gave up and chucked a scaffold pole through the back screen.

To be fair I quickly recouped my 30 quid breaking the fucker, then used a mini digger to finish it off.

After an evening in the pub a friend announced that he would like to repaint his car, a MKIII Cortina estate. No time like the present, so I went round my Mums and got some paint, about 10 tins of various colours (included some masonary paint with added agregate in a fetching shade of off yellow), 3 brushes and no brush cleaner. We than went to a random block of lock up garages and proceeded to paint the car in the driveway with the aid of a couple of dodgy torches for light.

At the time it didn't look too bad, another friend who is pretty good at art and into things military, painted some camoflauge shapes which he referred to as Mickey Mouse ears.

The following morning it did definately look Mickey Mouse, in fact it looked a bastard as we hadn't even considered using any masking materials. his Mum was not pleased and banned him from parking it anywhere near her house until it was more presentable.
