My 1975 BMW 1602L for sale

Due to fancying a change and spotting something else that i doubt I'll win on ebay I'm putting my 02 up for sale.

I'm just going to copy and paste my long winded advert from ebay as it pretty much covers everything.

It is in very good condition for it's age, It has had a respray in it's original colour (Pastel Bleu) at some point in it's life which has helped to keep it fresh although it is starting to deteriorate a little in the normal places.

It has MOT until 26th May 2011 and road tax until the end of August 2010.

It was bought from Frank Lazenby in Leicester on the 23rd September 1975 by a Miss K Hallam from North Kyme, Lincs who kept it for a number of years until she inherited a 316i, it's also changed hands in 1988, 1997, 2008 then i bought it in June 2009 from Brigg, Lincs and drove it the 180 odd miles home without fault.

It's only covered a very mileage in it's life of 71400, I've done nearly 3000 miles in the last year and have thoroughly enjoyed using it and the good comments i get from it.

It even has a well stamped up service book with it's original service stickers still inside.

Since I have had it I have had a new clutch fitted, Clutch slave cylinder, New Battery, The carb cleaned a couple of times due to the lack of use, Exhaust repaired and a couple of patches done on the sills and on the rear crossmember.

It passed it's MOT a few weeks ago with flying colours and with no advisories.

It's a very solid car underneath but sadly it's started to go in a few places on the bodywork as you'd expect on a old BMW, Mainly the rear arches, The edge of both front wings and the bottom of the doors plus the odd scab here and there on the roof and bonnet, NONE of which are terrible or an eye sore but would need replacing at some point.

The chrome work is still lovely and complete as well which is rare for one of these.

The interior is also very good, It has the Lux trim with the wood on the doors and the velour seats and rear armrest but the velour has suffered from the sun and has faded and it's split on the drivers seat, this is a very common problem with these, The door cards are uncut and the carpet and headlining are perfect, I have fitted a Kenwood CD player but that can be changed and pod speakers on the rear shelf which haven't done any damage, Everything works, Even the cigarette lighter and heated rear window but the clock doesn't, It also has BMW rear seat belts fittedand an immobiliser.

Mechanically it's drives very well, Pulls nicely through the tight gearbox and happily keeps up with modern traffic and the brakes are also very good with it's twin servos.

I have fitted front and rear anti-roll bars from a 2002 (Turbo i think) to it as the 1602 never came with them, This has helped the handling immensely.

Tesco value really for an iconic, and thoroughly useable classic.

Sorry Ian

I've spotted a MG 1100 that local to me that I've also seen about i fancy having a pop on but i can't afford to have two old cars if by some of chance that i win it.

Crikey - MG 1100s are pretty rare these days. Buy the Beemer someone - this man needs shite!

That MG is a proper hunny.

But you'll need some deckchairs, thermos and board with rosettes and badges on for the summer season. Oh and an old bat with a sour face to sit near it all day at shows...

Well - good luck with the sale Trig - I really hope you manage get the MG. I find it hard to pick between those and the GTs for the best styled ADO16. They are lovely little things.

Hey there, I do 25K a year and was thinking of buying a Panda Diesel.

What does this do the gallon? If you say less than 50 I will be very surprised, shocked and appalled at the time I've wasted typing this message to you.

I really dont understand why this has not sold yet. It looks a qualty motor-price is good too. If it was a shitty Vw it would be long gone

 I know! What was that all about!, As if you would expect to do 25k a year in a car of this age!

On the plus side at least it bumped the ad to the top again!.

It is possible, but you'd have to be a bit of a lunatic...there is a guy in the A30/35 club who does 26k a year in his 1955 Austin A30...

Wow that is lovely, I'd snap that up if I could (not that me saying it helps you in the slightest)
