Not my dream!

This odd story popped up in the local rag this week about some bloke with autism who wants to open some transport-themed museum and resource centre, right here in Biggleswade.

Here's a link:

Now I don't know about you... I am sure the guy has really good intentions and whatnot, but can you see anything there that suggests this will ever amount to more than huff?

Lots of wooly 'goals' but not alot about how this will actually happen.

As far as I can make out , key ingredients for opening a tat museum are:

1) Be bit bonkers

2) Have some cash!

3) Buy a load of old rammle off ebay

4) Buy/rent/lease a big old shed, greenhouse, subterrainian car-park or whatever to keep it in.

5) Charge folk £5 to come and have a look at your old bilge.

Job done.

The last transport museum I went to, the proprietor was going on and on about the umpteenth Jensen rebirth being killed off because the government were too busy giving money to fuggin' asylum seekers, etc to bail out some half-arsed car company. We were admiring a 541r at the time.

I haven't been to any since.

Right. OK. Stondon and Shutts not enough in your area? Ummm. I hope his birds and fish continue to co-exist and the right one continues to eat the other. Or something.

In nature a fish wouldn’t fly and the natural world would not put a fish on medication simply because it couldn’t!

I have a son with ASD, I asked him WTF ^^^^ this meant and he said he was fucked if he knew and he was going back to looking for dwarf porn on the interweb and not to disturb him again for such crap.

SRSLY though even my lad thinks this is a piss poor business plan.

They can't even spell Berkeley. That means no money from me.

[pedant] actually it stands for spectrum[/pedant]

I know - even James can see that as a business proposition that this is piss poor. he said it sounds more like an obsession. But then he is quite insightful into his condition and knows that its unlikely that anyone would pay money to see his 164 clocks, let alone employ anyone to show people round them.

Ok Father Ted, I give up. But the clocks thing is not impossible, the museum linked here has been there for many years, and is quite interesting. I even went there myself about 35 years ago :(
