moved my mk4 Zephyr today, for the first time in at least a year

 

a charged battery, drop of petrol in the carb and it fired up straight away, this car is long overdue an MOT, but theres at least 2 of my cars need attention before this one

Is that little pedal next to the clutch to open the bonnet? I think the SD1's had that. I'd get that sorted first, it looks super!

I would guess that foot pedal to be a washer pump for the 'screen, my Mk1 escort had the same set-up.

 

That said, my old land-rover had a little switch like that to flick between dipped & high beam...

yes they are windscreen washers (although missing the actual washers)

 

the blue and red hanging wires are for the seat electrics

apparantly a v10 or v12 will drop straight in, when spare wheel and rad relocated

 

i think the bonnet is almost 5 feet long

I broke the last scorpio cosworth I got my hands on within 24 hours of borrowing it

unfortunately i tried a pair of scorpio front seats in it, and they are not big enough

 

and i would miss the rumble and thump through the twin side pipes

These things are a splendid old tool, comfy, famous for being Oz's car in the 1st episode of the 1st series of "Auf Wiedersehen, Pet" and more desirable than an 09 plate Maybach, but little? They're the length of a cricket pitch and then there's the bit behind the landing strip.....
