Funny how now that this government scheme has ended, quite a few manufacturers have introduced their own version without the help of taxpayers money.

Citroen/Peugeot 'Swappage'

Chevrolet 'Switch & Save'

Renault 'Swappage'

etc..

Along with many manufacturers reducing prices by guess what?? No, go on guess......thats right, about 2k..

If they had done this in the first place none of the classic cars had to die! Isn't this er, trade in??

Next year....Snappage - £2000 discount but they saw your old car in half.Slappage - 10% off any new car as long as you go out on a date with the salesman's 54-year-old tarted up missus, and go all the way.Sewage - Minimum £2500 partex as long as you eat human faeces.

It is indeed. Just a minimum part ex deal. Does seem a little odd that we heard manufacturers telling us they needed government money and now they can manage to do the same if not a better deal without it :?

I'm glad you bought this up because forgot to mention a couple of weeks ago a local dealer was offering brand new Insignias for about twelve large. No fucking way were they that cheap during scrappage.

I had a brief drive of a brand new, base spec 1.8 petrol Insignia this afternoon. £12k would still be too expensive.

The good news is of course we can benefit from being able to buy the the old giiffer's cars this time. One owner low mileage lovelies that now don't HAVE to be crushed!

Just watched a scrappage article on "the one show" I'd forgotten how annoyed I was by the whole thing.

Well, that's what you get for watching The One Show.

I didn't see these words. What I saw was:'In 2006 I bought a Citroen C4'.Uncanny.

Sloppage - £5 off next car for thick cunts who can't haggle and think 14k for a car that's made for 400 quid in Malaysia is cheap, if you clean the toilet in the garage for the rest of your life. With your tongue.Snappage - A free tank of petrol included in your Kia Satsuma (pre-tax, not including fuel cost), if you agree to have every finger broken. Also, you'll have to wait four months for delivery of your '10' plated car. At which point it'll be worth half the price. Also, your children will be taken away. And your new Kia.

It's what the Septics like to call 'Preferential Trade In', sweetning the deal to get you into the showroom (and then arse raping you on the finance agreement).

I looked at one too, truly awful things. If I bought one of those I can honestly say that I would deserve to have a soup ladle pushed up my bum sideways.

Not wanting to appear to be falling on what may could be considered the wrong side of the fence, but it would seem that only Skoda is helping you buy a car which £2k scrappage would have made a difference on.Unless you want to buy out a runout Micra or a base trim (yikes) Corsa.I guess the "Japanese manufacturer" Kia's seven year warranty would have boosted sales in the same way

Citroen/Peugeot/Renault are offering a 'swappage' deal and quite a few have lopped a couple of grand of the prices. They are not all listed in that link.
