Bike sold to first chap who could string a sentence together.

Mrs B’s Rangie fixed by putting a fuse in 37 and resetting the transfer box motor.

Treated it to inner rack end as it was wandering and a set of front discs and pads. Of course now she wants dirty dailies xc90 now it’s fixed. Anyone fancy it as I like losing cash on cars. It’s actually pretty nice to drive now.

Serviced and scrubbed the master yesterday as a few viewers today.

Air filter was like new given I’d done it a year ago.

The shit that came out of that drivers seat was horrific. It had one of those greasy pie/crotch finger patches on the centre front. Hmm.

Master has sold and we are having a final journey to Shrewsbury to delivery him.

It sold for significantly more than I advertised it on here but OMG the “bit” of stuff has filled the hallway so at least I’m paying in misery.

3 more to go. Anyone fancy a 996, L322 or simson schwalbe kr51/2 as we move/lurch towards our electric future?

My L322 had exactly the same issue. I got it towed to the nearest garage, not sure what they did to it but they barely charged me anything and didn't require any parts so I wouldn't be surprised if the power probe fix was exactly what they did.

Fuse 37 m8, place fuse in, box shifts to neutral, hi/lo shufty a few times. Fuse out repeat. Up down box 6 times and Bob is your mother’s brother. Bonus box is now somehow smoother.

Brakes are also much shinier.

This evening approximately 1.5 hours ago I thought I’ve had that tow bar for the polo a while now, I know I’ll just pull the bumper off.

Got carried away.

Where on earth did I put the wiring bits?? Do these just need a bypass relay?

Today was the FiL funeral, when we got back the nice Amazon man had delivered the replacement spark plug for the simson Schwalbe so after making Mrs B a brew I changed out of the formal wear and popped the new plug in.

Fresh fuel, new carb and now plug and it’s burst into life. Wonderful.

Now if only DVLA would send me a v5 life would be great.

I know @Dave_Q has registered a few things in the past but does anyone else have experience of their turn around time? Is it usually weeks?

Bastard new brakes good, old caliper bad. Shit bag seizing up bastard. Sadly the shite blue paint wasn’t all it was daubed up to be.

Thankfully she didn’t cook the new brakes and came back after she said it started smelling.

Onto eBay for a caliper. Reckon this one is right? I know it says sport.

Whilst I wait for the second life vampire for Mrs B’s truck shite I decided to do more brake things on the porker. What a joy to work on something you’ve taken apart before and bothered to clean threads on.

Ahh shiny things that apparently won’t rust? I call BS but let’s hope.

Calliper landed and fitted today. Reset lights with SDD and drives like a lovely thing again.

Anyone want to swap for a nice xc90 as that’s what she wants next.

Sensor landed today but obviously the heavens opened and didn't stop for hours so nowt achieved today. I will fit it in the morning if the weather holds off and if that fixes it then we can list it on here. Anyone want a ruinous rangie?

Sensor was fitted and codes reset. Getting the old one out was a drill a thon but a clear error free car has resumed.

Mrs B did 100 or something miles today and no issues so win.

Time to swap it now whilst it’s working.

Finally coded in the berlingo cruise this evening. Huge thanks to Jazoli and his diagnostic wizardry.

I replaced the pedal with an LVVD one, bought a cheapo arm, chopped the column cowl out and programmed in TWO different places that it had cruise and speed limit. BSI & ECU (doh) now looking forward to a more relaxed journey back to France. Bonus we now have a fully functional diagnostic setup for it too.

Cruise will apparently work with the standard pedal, but the limit function won't.  Just what I've been told - can't vouch for the accuracy.

I've been stuck getting it coded in on mine as there's something amiss with the coding of the engine ECU (looks to have been replaced from another vehicle) and it won't let us into the configuration menu to enable it on there.

Apparently the version of the software plays a big part too.

Did you cove in BSI first?

Yep, BSI was coded no problem.

However as soon as the engine ECU is interrogated this pops up.

Screenshot_20240727_110733.jpg.3b0ac321de532a05c5c2ddd0b2762fc8.jpg

And any attempt to enter the configuration menu just pops up a message saying that feature is not available on this ECU.

No, but the guy wielding the hardware was one of the long term contributors and major brains behind the French Car Forums, so we're pretty sure this isn't a knowledge issue.

Is one of those things if I had more free time I'd probably dig into further - finding out exactly which ECU I should have fitted and see if this matches would be step one.

As it is, it'll likely be up for sale next week, so that's going to be something the next owner can look into if they like.

Sadly not. First hint of any nonsense was that error message when we went to code in the cruise control.
