For Sale Volvo 480 Turbo 1993, £130 ono (SOLD)

I am selling my Volvo 480 to fund some of my other projects. It is a 1993 Turbo model, 1700cc. I rescued the car from being scrapped and it was my intention to sort out its problems so i could use her as a daily.

It has covered 84000 miles and comes with its original Volvo pack up and Tool kit. There is no Tax or Mot on the vehicle.

The good

New tyres, discs and pads all around

New front suspension amrs and bushes

Engine runs fine, no smoke under accleleration or leaks/noises, smae for the Turbo

Interior is in good condition, with half leather heated seats

Lights pop up and retract in unison

The Bad

Surface to rust to bottom of the drivers door and front wing

No Tax or MOT

Has been stood for 3 months

Needs a new exhaust back box

The Ugly

The back arches are rusty and the lip on one is rotten. Ideally they need to be replaced with the rot cut out and fresh panels put in.

The car is located at RAF Cosford in Shropshire, WV7 3EX.

It will also need to be trailored away. I'm advertising it on here as i dont want it scrapping/being broken for bits as its too much of a decent car for that fate.

Watanabe was leering at these not so long ago - worth giving him a pm?

I've wanted one for ages, if you don't sell it I'd certainly take it off your hands eventually! No doubt someone will have this. :)

Yeh tbh the only reason im selling it is to fund work on the Starions and the Beta. They are quite pokey and it certainly pulled well.

Oo, I had a Starion. I think the words 'work' and 'Starion' go well, as in 'mine never worked'. You aren't in a hurry to get rid are you? I have wanted one of these for ages. Are those arches needed to be done for the MOT?

Good luck with the sale, I love these and someone really ought to just get it bought at that price. I'm in Jersey so I'm out.

Reckon they'd fail on jagged edges, especially the n/s one. If not structural (which I doubt they are) some of Isopon's finest hour would sort them without too much agro.

Yeah, deffo enough jagged edges to keep grip on the pink stuff.

I think these are really nice looking cars.

I agree that it will probabll fail on the jagged edges, i know for certain it will fail on the exhaust as the tail pipe is rotten and is making a break for freedom from the backbox.New backboxes are on ebay for £55.The price is negotiable as i just want it to go to someone who can look after it and enjoy it, not rape it for its engine or any other bits n bobs.

I had a H plate one, bought for peanuts, and run without any attention for a couple of years. They're quite pokey, and have some really cool features, most of which surprisingly still worked on mine, such as 'Follow you home' lights, and if it was dark you lift the door handle and the lock barrel illuminates to help you locate it.It wasn't that bad on fuel either, The renault derived engine was actually pretty good. They are getting very rare in Turbo form.

who on earth would build a 1700 turbo laguna? That sounds like a right old POS.

They end up more often in 5 Turbos as Baccaras are thin on the ground now. It's a plug and play conversion really.Sort of the same mindset who'd cut a perfectly decent Piazza up to rod a Chevette.

Or Vauxhall XE's into Novas. :x

If I shoved one into mine it’d crumble to dust at the first traffic light grand prix
