Could be, looks a little dull in the pic. This mg is moonraker blueFB_IMG_1738826646461.jpg.aab4d0416197a5d9095d6b7eddd40fc1.jpg

Yep the aforementioned decadent HL was in this colour, I think it was my favourite aspect of the car to be honest - but then I do love a proper blue car (as opposed to a washed out grey with hint of blue that seems to be the way nowadays).

Found this quite interesting.

A Mr David Grant posted on Flickr a few pictures from the Ledbury Service station where the T.E.T cars were being assembled in 1999. He purchased a Red Maestro hatch registered T144 AVJ, I think mine (T331 AVJ) might have been sold not long after.

Wow, I remember passing that place, must have been about early 2001 and it was still full of the cars then. Remarkable to think that this was firmly the era of the mk1 Focus.

Someone had one of those dark blue Maestros in Wester Hailes, Edinburgh around 2003-2005 where I regularly drove a bus route. Think it would have been R-something-RVJ, haven’t checked to see if it lasted long enough for Google Streetview.

Here's my then Ledbury Maestro R491 RVJ outside back in 2004.

I went back in late 2005 with the owners club to help clear out all the remaining spares.

Would be amusing if the shonky Mayfair was there to provide a few vital spares missing from the Bulgarian hoard. I thought they were CKD kits put together in Ledbury but those look like assembled cars covered in protective wax.

Petrol station is still there, not been Murco for a while (if they are even still going). It’s still locally owned AFAIK but one of the ‘big’ petrol brands now.

You need an awful lot of RHD specific bits  and they made some massive orders with Rover for a lot of the stuff required, but once that dried up they did resort to cannibalism.
