Back from Poland and some photos of shite Polish cars

I'm back!

 

I thrashed the Megane to Poland and back in record time. I managed to drive from Calais to the Polish border (just over 600 miles) in 6h 45min, which included two stops for petrol and a piss. That's driving at an average speed of 90MPH. Trouble with driving with the foot to the floor is that fuel consumption suffers. According to the fuel computer the Megane averaged 24MPG. According to Renault's stats, at a steady motorway cruising speed this car should return 50MPG. Lying fuckers.

Unfortunately I didn't see much proper eastern European shite out there. Where as five years ago you'd see FSOs, Ladas, rear engined Skodas, Trabants and other shite on every street, nowadays the streets are littered with very second hand German shite.

I would very much like an FSO 125P, saloon or estate flavour, I dont mind. Im quite dissapointed that Poland isnt still full of them!

Bloody hell that was quick, I drive from St Malo although I stop off in Germany to see my brother.Loads of people I know reckon its about 24-25 hours from St Malo to Poland (yeah I know Calais is further up but even so I thought it'd take you longer)I definately noticed a distinct lack of traditional Polski-Shite, its becoming another faceless sea of VWs/Skodas/Audis.

I gather that you were legally doing them speeds ?

A former boss of mine used to report similar results from Den Haag to Warsaw. He had a Rover Vitesse, then a Volvo 850R to do it in though. As for me, I thought Calais to Neuss in 4 and a half was good!

I didn't see anything of interest when I was over there.. just like here.. Did Zebrugge- Gdansk in 25 hours, via Luxembourg,Saarbrucken,Frankfurt,Leipzig.. fell asleep on the bike in the end... thats a story and a half.

oh i wouldnt say that they arent that bad appart from a gearstick you just stir about untill you feal a clunk then you may or may not have the right gear you where after I got stopped by the fuzz with 14 younguns in the car and a lawnmower they let me off with a warning after nearly wetting themselfs with laughter sculks off to see if i can find pics off said car
