grizz Posted February 8 Author Posted February 8 Right @wuvvum and other normal in my world but weirdos to non believers…:…., NEW QUESTION BECAUSE I KNOW SOME OF YOU ARE ONBOARD. PIAGGIO APE 250 Know much about replacing engines with something more peppy?? NOT TALKING RACING OR Hyabusa Powered. Sensible, if that exists. In case I manage to source a non engined, shagged engine type base to work from. Ideally I would like to retain the actual profile and silhouette of said vehicle. Youtube only seems to offer batshit crazy shit. This is not what I need or want. Rather something that can manage modern day traffic and keep up in the left lane. Get my drift?
GlenAnderson Posted February 8 Posted February 8 That lunatic Johnny Bravo no doubt still has an unfinished one… Personally, I’d make sure you physically fit inside the cab of one before you get too carried away, because they’re fucking tiny inside. The Ape TM is 210cc and, if you are seriously looking, would be a much better starting point than any of the 50cc versions. grizz 1

Not sure he would be selling at my kinda money. I would always think along the lines of taking it to Scotland on backroads. So a reasonable cruising speed has to be maintainable Probably 45mph or deathwish <50mph.
grizz Posted February 9 Author Posted February 9 Obviously with a name like mine, finding name plates in a shop is impossible. Almost found one this week. Was tempted. In the meantime, George continues to be his usual self. Wardrobes, cabinets, boxes etc are just irresistible to him. Yesterday it was the airing cabinet. He didn’t want to come out. So I walked away. Came down later Dickhead. . UltraWomble, Jenson Velcro and Lacquer Peel 3

Westbay Posted February 10 Posted February 10 Probably shouldn't admit this publicly , but, quite like the Rolls ... 🤭 grizz 1
wuvvum Posted February 12 Posted February 12 IIRC the 210cc Ape would still only do about 40 flat out. If I was going to fit a completely different engine I'd probably go for a 505cc Lombardini twin out of a Microcar, complete with CVT - that should be enough to propel an Ape along at scary but not quite lethal speeds, and you'd also still have a reverse gear, plus the whole lot should be compact enough to be shoehorned into an Ape somehow. grizz 1

I am thinking along these lines……. Pics below. But…….tommorrow this is getting collected. Making space for the 1966 Chevy C10 to be restarted on. Severely, really severely For building it inside a box inside the garage for 10 years. Its one of the most awesome thongs I ever built. Evrn better than a 4 bedroom timber home up a mountain side 30 years ago. (look at 72 De Villiers way, Glencairn, South Africa on Google street view or satellite view) Its one of the nicest campers ever. Though, like my R1200GS it is unused, so should be sold. grizz Posted Saturday at 08:23 Author Posted Saturday at 08:23 So how do you like my garden and hedges every year ? I do like them straight and tidy. I live on a dead straight road. Speed limit……. 30mph or 48.3 km/h However…., Thursday Woodsie and Teresa came around for lunch (massive sausage rolls and Belgian buns Google it) that they supplied. They left around 2.00pm I headed out at 3.00pm to go price up Long wheelbase tall Sprinter Van Hire in person….. and to find out costs for using a van for a trip 1000 miles or 1600km into Europe. So……… I challenge you all to figure out what thats possibly all about. When I got out the house, I noticed car tyre tracks across my sidewalk/pavement grass. Its winter, so wet, soft, fragile lawns. So some big ( “Doos” for America and the rest to go figure out the meaning of) had driven onto my sidewalk (in the UK I actually own the land to the kerb through an ancient rule about possession and maintenance. Not only driven over my sidewalk but managed to shift, move, uproot, destroy part of my front hedge. Only spring and summer will tell how much the roots are damaged. Anyway, they obviously drove off. I am thankful that Kevin had already left because his car was parked in the pathway of the juggernaut idiot driver who didn’t have the decency to knock and apologise. Yes I would have done that. Hopefully they have a fcucked car Yes I am pissed at them. My problem. . Jim Bell, auntiemaryscanary and Westbay 1 2

grizz Posted Sunday at 18:15 Author Posted Sunday at 18:15 End of one, start of another. Rezin Rockit got collected on Valentine’s Day And it clearly didn’t want to go. Kicked me in the nuts as I started it up to drive it up onto the transport trailer. I had ensured that it was perfect for the new owner during the week and gave him a run through of its functions. A video showing him what he was getting. It still looked so good parked in the carport. But when I started it up, there was a squealing sound and the silence as the fanbelt, original to the engine, shredded itself and knocked the crankshaft crank position sensor off its mounting point. Rendering the engine unable to start. So we pushed it over and used the winch to load it. Totally gutted. I absolutely hate selling stuff and not delivering on expectations. This time though, the car had the last laugh. .
grizz Posted Monday at 18:00 Author Posted Monday at 18:00 Not a lot done today. But a video filmed. 35’F outside today with a breeze Started Moving stuff around Clearing workspace Little steps Easy. The trailer loaded with a pile of wooden shutters. Swept out the carport as well. Then unearthed the cab roller as well as the cab hoist. Remember this tool Martin and I made 9 years ago. More clearing space to do tomorrow. Hopefully a little bit every day. . Westbay, MrBig, Dick Cheeseburger and 1 other 4

grizz Posted 15 hours ago Author Posted 15 hours ago Amazing I normally work from home. I need to use Video/Teams etc for teaching and admin tasks as well as Internet access. Uploading this 2 minute video to YouTube took about 3 hours. My broadband delivery has progressed to this mess as per video. Even the screen pixelation is limited and blurred. https://youtu.be/IEVPgYt1Jms?si=8ReWQsbIgEMLSxed And the provider insists they are delivering on their contract. How do I get them to release me from this copper line based contract and allow me to use their Dongle/Mobile service. They have a mobile tower less than 1km or a mile from my home. Provided by EE and using BT Openreach phone service I really need a change. But how? .
Westbay Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago Cancel current contract, pay the cancellation fee, take out new mobile broadband contract ... use VOIP to make telephone calls ... https://ee.co.uk/help/profile/leaving-ee/cancel-my-broadband-landline-or-tv-plan https://ee.co.uk/broadband/pay-monthly-mobile-broadband-gallery I believe the 'target date' to phase out all copper landlines is still Jan 2027 ... except in "...rural areas with poor broadband coverage .." grizz 1
