grizz Posted September 20, 2025 Author Posted September 20, 2025 Today is an off day so far. Yesterday’s side project beat my hand up with torque twist and whack, about four times. Texting (I only use my right thumb) and making coffee is less than ideal. Oh and welding burns make me laugh madly. Especially when I can’t run away. Bastards. YouTube gets a bit tiring in the end. . 93fxdl Posted September 21, 2025 Posted September 21, 2025 Seems to be the American style of bodywork, cover in filler then sand back to shape. Once saw an episode of American hot rod, cover entire car in filler then flat back, one shiny show car, clad in bondo Ttfn Glenn grizz 1

grizz Posted September 23, 2025 Author Posted September 23, 2025 Last week I spent a few days building Pedro a smoking shelter for winter. Two, used 44 gallon or 199 liter oil drums from Cliffs Auto Repairs. Some wood, an old damaged roadsign scavenged from a scrap yard. And a few other bits of hardware. Electricity, grinding discs, flap discs, Hammerite paint. A random vision. Some photos. Pedro loves it with the chill just creeping into nights. . MAF260, SilverMachine, loserone and 2 others 5

grizz Posted September 23, 2025 Author Posted September 23, 2025 Pedro bought the biggest double air fryer he could find. I never wanted one. Never wanted to use one. Popped my cherry tonight. Chicken leg was really good. Converted. I think. And just for you Bob.

grizz Posted September 24, 2025 Author Posted September 24, 2025 Pedro…….. In a different world, he would be classified as a prepper. He loves having enough of stuff. One of these things is food. Much of his food goes in the refrigerator. So last week he asked for more fridge space. Facebook Marketplace……. What a shithole, populated by all sorts you don’t want to deal with. I had messaged 5 sellers of American fridges. Priced between £120 and £230 used items. NOT ONE REPLIED. Then yesterday morning my usual stupid-0-clock waking before 05.30am had me looking and I found a new listing, posted at 11.00pm. So I messaged Elizabeth by 6.30 or thereabouts. By 10.30am no reply. So I messaged her private FB account. 10 minutes later she replied. We agreed on me heading over, 23 miles to get there after 12.00 When I got there, Steve, her ex husband and a strong sack barrow were there. Pleasantries exchanged, ball thrown for the crazy dog and fridge loaded in the Astro then headed home. Chevy Astro doing what it should. Delivering. When I got home, I unloaded the fridge and cleaned the already clean fridge and freezer. Elizabeth was super apologetic about the bottom plastic basket being missing due to having been broken previously. So when I got home, the search was on for some sort of box/tray/container to create a bottom tray. I found an old box from 10 years ago, cut it down in size, strengthened it and put some holes in it. Job done. Oh, and yes, Pedro is super happy Quick video. https://youtu.be/aSlAYIDu5GU?si=ZrYBrlOc7kHmn_HL . Jenson Velcro, Westbay, SilverMachine and 3 others 6

grizz Posted September 26, 2025 Author Posted September 26, 2025 Started working on the first bedside yesterday It challenged me within 10 minutes. Rear reversing or backup lights holes on both sides have been damaged before. Getting in there proved awkward. So I went and made a coffee and thought it through. So I ate some cookies. Went back out and dug around in my piles of scrap for parts to build a tool that could get in behind the dents, from the outside. Have you figured it out yet? I found an old 2kg hammer head, some 10mm steel plate offcuts and a handle from some old garden shears. Welder, grinders and flap disc pulled out. And a tool created. It is awkward but works well. grizz Posted September 27, 2025 Author Posted September 27, 2025 This morning I am out for a 7.30am MOT with Pedro and his Fiesta. He is like an expectant father. I do hope the car passes. Everything works. Fil is on his way in his Iveco camper van Of course he had to post something just to remind me of the fact that I have bought something (sight unseen )from a deceased estate. 7 years in a barn up in North Yorkshire It will be interesting to see what he drops off here. Seems the key ring knows more than me though. . Westbay 1
grizz Posted September 27, 2025 Author Posted September 27, 2025 Pedros car passed the MOT test. Also had @sparkplug here for more than half the day. Always a pleasure. 10 year barn bound, barn find from Northern Yorkshire delivered. Kawasaki Bayou 300cc 4X4 Then Pedro and Fill did all the hard work on phase one of cleaning. Of course the main motivation was to get some fuel in and a battery on. To try start it. Front and rear lights all worked. Electric start didn’t Neither did the pull start. So Fil pressure cleaned it after we put it in tall axle stands. Disappointed but not defeated. Most exciting discovery was it having disc brakes. . 24vdiamond, 666jjp, SilverMachine and 3 others 6
