grizz Posted May 28 Author Posted May 28 Most of you know my friend Darren with the engineering shop through references to his junk steel skip that he allows me to raid from time to time. He has also done me many favours with some of the machines in there over the years, hydraulic presses, laser cutting table and CNC machines. This week he is out in his Ford Pop hotrod on the Isle of Wight with the NSRA. Yesterday I got a message from him, asking me to play around with some designs for his one truck. Big Bright Orange Dodge. He was very much taken with my transformation on the Oldsmobile paint that I had done recently So he asked me to get some lowrider inspired designs onto his Dodge. He sent some pictures of the truck. Another online friend and Artist you guys know Bryan also did some awesome designs. I have a favourite. But I was really impressed with how the Oldsmobile paint job translated onto the truck. Result……..… . Rustybullethole 1

grizz Posted May 29 Author Posted May 29 Did I mention this? Shed find. Or something like that. Seems it was bought by an eager father, banned by over protective mother. Tossed in a shed for years I guess. House move and some horse trading got it into my garage I told my buddy John that I would put it on Marketplace and forums for him. Untested, apparently never actually ridden. I am sure the battery is long since gone flat. Fuel is probably a two stroke mix, again long since evaporated Front disc brake, handlebars fold down for transportation Not much else to say about it. Selling as “Shed find project” and non running project. These seem to make decent money out there. Messenger please if you’re interested in buying it at the advertised price of £150.00 or tell me what you need to pay for it?? Trade?? Maybe some pretty 4x100 VW steels Collecting at St Mary Hoo area near Rochester. Video: One being ridden. https://youtube.com/shorts/yCRbFnK4_n8?si=WrTCcdhwDGVvnO78 You’d be surprised at how useful these things can be I used to have this pink one for campground transport. Battery Electric. And absolutely shockingly good at getting around on This one according to “others” could get an MSVA Not something I would want. But get it running and in or on the back of a camper, van, pickup, EV 😉 and you’ll be away. I used to put this scooter inside the teardrop trailer. . SilverMachine 1

grizz Posted May 30 Author Posted May 30 Some real life stuff done this week. Heat was very high and of course I chose to cut hedges. I agreed to cutting the neighbours hedges for a fee after they asked me three or four times, offering to pay every time. I last cut them back hard last year for them, free of charge because I thought they needed some help. They want the big garden but are clearly not gardeners and let it all get away from them, overwhelming them. So on Tuesday I cut Mickey, my and next doors front hedges and cleared it all. On Wednesday I took an hour just to clear toys, furniture, tools, timber, a pile of soil and junk for a perimeter of about 600mm so I could walk, cut and clear up. Then I started cutting. Most of the hedge is being kept at 1.8 to 2.0 meter or six foot plus. By the time I was done cutting and cleaning, and a lot of it took two or more passes in order to get it shaped and ready for filling out, it was 3.30pm and I was pretty knackered, being unfit and overweight. On Thursday I tackled my garden as well as outside behind the workshop. I was happy to be done with it. Yesterday I cleared some stuff around the garage and carport to make space to be able to crawl around under the Skoda when I get started. Today…… Back to the grind and cut and welding and swearing (maybe no swearing)? . 93fxdl, Joey spud, Westbay and 3 others 6

My previous house had 80ft privet on both sides - yours looks considerably longer. Of course I cut mine but also had to do the other as it was empty for years and latterly had tenants. If I hadn't cut it the hedge would have been 50ft high and smothering half my garden. Then all the cuttings need disposing. Thankfully the new house has no hedges. It was very good of you to cut it for free initially. Whatever you have been paid (and so you should be) you've bloody well earned it as well as achieving a good finish. grizz 1

Morning Yes we have a lot of hedges. A good, tidy cut makes it feel good. The local rip off artist gardener hacked the next houses hedges with a petrol cutter and charged them a lot more than was fair. I need a new large electric trimmer. £170.00 Current one was £145.00 700mm sweep and 700watt New model 700mm sweep and 500watt motor for more money. Bosch really pisses me off. The predecessor of my current one was also a better spec machine Why?? Ahhh yes, engineered obsolescence and profits. auntiemaryscanary 1
grizz Posted May 31 Author Posted May 31 Quick bootfair report before I head out. Struck gold for @Craigrk and his random VW cars collection today. Also a few random ones for me. Prices of Hotwheels have gone up this year. Mostly £1.00 each but some 50p and even 3/£1.00 . lesapandre and Jim Bell 2
grizz Posted June 1 Author Posted June 1 Real time update insert. I wear surround safety glasses under my welding mask. But today I didn’t wear the mask due to space constraints. And like we know…… Things happen. So welding upside down under a car, had much splatter in hair, but also one bead made it into my eyelid and frizzled some eyelashes away. Be careful. . grizz Posted June 2 Author Posted June 2 Small update Being as it was a painting and decoration guys van before, the bed-liner was pretty grubby, even after pressure washing. I had also removed it in order to get to the loadbed for cleaning and repairing. So I decided to give it a few coats of matt black on the hottest day of the year. VIDEO. PICTURES BEFORE AND AFTER. . grizz Posted June 3 Author Posted June 3 That face mask is expensive but a true game changer. Getting in under a car, being able to roll around and move without banging the mask, restricting visibility, and getting those welds just right. That…….. Is how you get the job done.
